The president cannot fix what is wrong with our elections. In fact, even congress would probably lose this fight. It will take a constitutional amendment or it has to be done at the state level.

Republican states should be fixing it now before their states turn purple. All it takes is voter ID and in person voting. The majority of European countries have managed to ban mail-in ballots for fear of fraud, we should do it too. Instead we are expanding its use. Clearly, fraud is the end goal.

Yes they want power, they want power to control every single facet of everyone's day to day life. They also want to control all business and all money.

It is all about power. With power comes money. What the socialists do not understand when they complain about 1% controlling all the wealth is that under socialism, an even smaller number of people control all the wealth. Just because those people are the ruling class does not mean they are not just as greedy and corrupt as the wealthy billionaires. At least under capitalism, we all have a chance to get rich. Under socialism no once has a chance to get rich. No one owns anything, but the ruling class controls everything.

I’m tired of carrying my fucking tank of a gun so I’m picking up a shield which is about 3/4lb lighter.

What holster are you using?

I’ll be open carrying outside the waistband until CA becomes a free state. (Which means never)

I looked at that one. I'm about to get a new carry gun myself (same reason as you, want something smaller)

I decided on either the Walther PDP Compact or Sig P320 M18. I like both guns and they are comparable cost, so may end up flipping a coin unless someone on here has used both and has some input.

I don’t like the feel of the Sig’s grips. They feel like I’m holding on to a baseball bat.

Since I’m left handed it makes it harder to find holsters for the less mass market type guns. So if I went with a Walther I would likely have less options to choose from.

I have a Sig P365XL. There is a lot about the gun I like but one thing I do not, which I will get to. My other handgun is a Springfield Armory XD which is a little bigger than the Sig and a little heavier. It is a nice handgun and I have only had one misfire with it since I owned it after thousands of rounds at the range with all kinds of cheap ammo. I got the Sig because I was looking for something a bit more compact. It feels great in my hand. There is no more kick than with the XD. It has a manual safety which is manageable. The XD which has trigger and grip safeties and no manual safety.

The one thing I do not like about the Sig is the distance from the trigger to the palm of my hand. It is a little too short and I have to think about the positioning of my finger on the trigger when I shoot. The XD is a better fit for my hand because my trigger finger is in a more natural position. This could be because I am just more used to it but it always felt more right to me. This makes me more accurate with the XD. Some guns allow replacement of the grip which will correct this problem. But I have not seen such an option for the SIG. I suppose I could use grip tape to make the grip thicker, like the .38 Michael Corleone used to kill Sollozzo in the restaurant in the Bronx. I loved the Sig when I first tried it but with time I came to realize it might now be the best handgun for me.

One note, I live in NJ and not all handguns are legal here. It has to take a 10 round mag, and cannot have a threaded barrel. When I bought my guns there was not a very good selection available and nothing at the dealers here in NJ. I had to buy them online and have them shipped to dealers here.

I don't know if anyone here is following this case, but a federal judge just overturned California's assault weapons ban declaring it unconstitutional. California is only one of several states that have banned assault weapons, including my home state of NJ. The judge gave CA 10 days to appeal the ruling and most likely this will go to the Supreme Court before it is finally decided.

CA, CO, MA, CT, NY and NJ are just a few states that have assault weapons bans in place. If the CA ruling stands it will apply to other states as well.

For those of you unfamiliar with the assault weapons bans, they mostly ban guns based on looks. For example, adjustable stocks are banned in NJ. So are flash suppressors. There is also a limit on the magazine size. None of these things effect the killing power of the weapon, just the looks.

The net effect of these laws is to make modern sporting rifles difficult to find in these states, Manufacturers don't mass produce state compliant weapons because it makes no sense for them to do so. In most cases, to get an rifle of this kind, a gunsmith has to modify a weapon to comply with state laws.

The minute this rule becomes effective nationally, I will put in an order for the AR-15 of my choice - and a few thousand rounds of ammo. When Jihad comes to America I will be ready with the best weapon I can find to protect myself and my family. Liberals can suck it!

The 9th Circuit Court strikes again, this time stays the lower court decision overturning California's assault weapons ban. In a 2-1 decision, the appeals court allowed the weapons ban to remain in place pending appeal. One of the 2 judges was a Trump appointee. The dissenting judge was a Bush appointee.

This case is clearly headed to the Supreme Court but this could take years. The importance of a conservative court cannot be understated. Given what happened in Israel on October 7th, and considering our southern border is wide open, and Mexican cartels will seel assault weapons to anyone, we need to arm ourselves with these weapons and be ready to use them to protect the innocent.

When the original CA Assault Weapons ban in 1994 was announced I went out and bought a Colt HBAR Match target.

When they required it to be registered federally as an AW I did so.

I still have it today. Along with a number of other uppers that I have built myself. I have a few different uppers in different configurations and I can switch them between my registered lower. So I can shoot it like it’s meant to be and not have to go featureless and mess with all that bullshit.

The 7th circuit claimed that assault weapons are not protected by the 2nd amendment, and rationalized that because bump stocks can essentially turn them into machine guns, they can be banned the same way machine guns are. Of course this is a silly argument. I can turn a fireplace poker into a Katana too, but no one would suggest banning pokers.

I think this case will get overturned by the Supreme Court. I am hope the SC overturns all the assault weapons bans, but I fear they will leave some restrictions in place.

These laws are dumb anyway. They are based only on cosmetic features, not on firepower. In NJ, I can own a Ruger Mini 14 which has not pistol grip but I can't own an AR-15 wich fires the same ammo etc. These laws are for show only and have nothing to do with reducing gun crimes.

I actually think is is just that Democrats want to make guns a political issue because there is a good percentage of the country that thinks guns are a problem. Many people fear guns having no experience with them. This is why they only talk about gun control when therer is a shooting.

What's the % of "gun violence" that occurs in inner cities which are 100% controlled by Democrats and most have the most strict gun control laws there are. The idea that "violence wont happen if we are gun free" is beyond ridiculous.

It's 100% about keeping themselves in power no matter what. It has nothing to do with saving lives.
