Chargers | Want to re-sign Eric Weddle
Wed, 27 Jul 2011 08:52:54 -0700

The San Diego Chargers are trying hard to re-sign free-agent S Eric Weddle. Weddle is drawing significant interest from several other teams on the open mark, but it isn't clear if the Chargers can afford to compete if the price gets too high.

Randy Moss is being rumored to sign with the Jets.

Holmes and Moss would be a great tandem. Good bye Edwards if true.

Panthers | DeAngelo Williams agrees to terms
Wed, 27 Jul 2011 10:39:04 -0700

The Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams (Panthers) on a five-year deal worth $43 million with $21 million in guaranteed money.

FANTASY TIP: Not a lot changes for Williams from a fantasy standpoint, despite a new coaching staff and system being installed. Rob Chudzinski's offense is far from being complex and shouldn't take much time at all to grasp. Williams will share some of his workload with Jonathan Stewart; Chudzinski has favored a single-back set in the past, but he didn't have a No. 2 with Stewart's talent. DAW is a low-end No. 2 fantasy back and could struggle facing stacked boxes if Carolina's quarterback play is poor.

So either Leinart likes being a backup or there was no team out there desperate enough to give him a shot at starting?

Cardinals | Could land Kevin Kolb by Friday
Wed, 27 Jul 2011 11:36:15 -0700

Despite no deal being in place, multiple league sources believe the Philadelphia Eagles will trade QB Kevin Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals by Friday, July 29. Trade discussions have not developed to a point where Kolb's representatives are talking about a contract extension with the Cardinals, but the two sides were in talks before the NFL lockout and the Cardinals understand what Kolb is looking for in a new deal.
