I agree that juggling the cap is a natural thing and all teams do it. But we're juggling the cap because we've paid out money to Marion Barber, Roy Williams, Terence Newman, Gerald Sensabaugh, TO, Ratliff, etc. Unneedingly.

An idiot could have told Jerry not to extend Roy Williams, Sensabaugh and Marion Barber.

Jeffrey Lurie would have smacked a bitch if someone suggested extending a 31 year old Ratliff.

Yeah those didn't make any sense at all, even at the time.

Obviously Jerry thought Roy was the man, but the Barber deal was crazy because we had just drafted Felix. Of course that was around the time that we thought it was a good idea to spend first rounders on niche players (thanks Redball) and draft special teamers, so...

Does this mean dbair is a liberal at heart when it comes to the salary cap?

The whole socialist system is rigged....I miss the pre cap days of domination. It's kind of like punishing the successful for being successful. Of course that is an entire movement now. Kill the rich aka know as the successful.

The worst was extending TO. Yeah, he came through for you for 3 years, but you didn't go anywhere with him. Let him ride out his current deal and be gone.

I'd wager Jerry is one of the biggest fans of the salary cap that you will find

What's funny is that most if the #1 big FA fish have bombed over the years. Nnamdi ashumeugha, and mario Williams(who wants to come here if we can get this damn lockout settled)

If we just had enough for the Scott wells', chris Myers', Brian waters', Evan Mathis', we'd be so much more legit

What pissed me off about Felix was, his film told you nothing. He was a backup RB in a gimmicky offense that we weren't going to run. He didn't even really have great speed. They bite on the read, and Felix takes the free 20 yards. BFD.

I think we were obviously right about Felix's talents. He is great in space, and he showed crazy talent his first couple years he just couldn't stay healthy. Then last year he just shit all over himself and was absolute garbage.

I agree.

But the funny aspect is this.

The "socialist system" has taken the league to new heights and record-setting profits, thereby allowing teams to build these massive temples for Sunday worship after lining the pockets of everyone involved. Roger had a 3M dollar salary this year. The owners gave him 30M total. That's how damn much they like the guy because he's literally bringing in money hand over fist for them.

In essence, the "socialist system" has taken the league to unprecedented areas that weren't even dreamed of back during the pre-cap days.

The "socialist system" HAS WORKED like a fucking charm for the NFL.
