There's no explanation that'll make sense. We made adjustments like we were losing at the half.

What would you have them do? Run the ball into the pile 3 straight plays on every possession? Other than a few plays, we showed almost no ability to run again yesterday, and thats been pretty much how its been for the first 4 games. You do what works. Romo was about as good as you can get in the first half and the Lions weakness is clearly their pass defense. There was no reason to change anything.

I think the bigger question is.. when we have a fucking 17 point lead to start the second half, why the hell does Romo end up with fucking 50 pass attemps? Run the damn ball on offense and when you throw, attack the outside like we did in the first half and had great success.

They probably would have run the ball more in the 2nd half, but unfortunately two drives ended after one play, each bad picks by the QB who had his head up his ass.

They ran the ball 5 times on the 3rd int possession, and the pick happened on a 3rd down.

The Cowboys had back to back 3 and outs in the 4th qtr. They ran the ball on 3 of the 6 plays. Thats 50%

The last 8 plays of the game were passes, with the Cowboys losing by 4 pts and having to move the length of the field with no timeouts. If Romo hadnt thrown 3 boneheaded picks, you figure most (if not all) of those plays would have been runs. So instead of 47/27 play distribution, you'd have had something like 40 passes and 34 runs.

On D, we were pressuring them hard the entire first half and that worked very well for us. We were smothering their offense. Second half? We just stop bringing pressure, start dropping more guys back, Stafford tears us up.

WTF are we doing out there?!

Your probably not going to hear it because it sounds like an excuse but sensebaugh is a really athletic good player and as soon as he went out the back end of the defense went to hell. The ball went in church's area every play.....earlier in the game they were throwing at ball because sensebaugh was taking away Johnson and pettigrew was coved well......with church in it looked like the middle of the field opened right up.

And spears offers nothing of a pass rush nor does lissemore. With sensebaugh, scandrick and hatcher back we should be pretty dam good on defense after the bye.

Anthony Spencer was a step late from stafford about 4 times in the second half...it w frustrating.

You are right, those things happened. But if our QB does not throw 3 INTS we have enough of a lead to weather the storm. They were given 14 points and a short field. Make it three punts so they must drive 80 yards and there simply isn't enough time for a comeback.

Well yea that is obvious stuff.

I will go even one step further...on the third down throw where ogle tree was out of bounds, romo threw it late, had he thrown it earlier he has a Td to ogle tree and there would never have been a comeback, he wouldn't have had to throw the third int and detroit would have probably not had the time to score and win.....that fg there to give us 30 instead of 34 was huge for the lions.

But yea obviously the int swung the momentum and we couldn't get it back...coupled with the loss of sensebaugh which dramatically changed the defense and we suffered a heart breaking but not season ending loss.

What exactly did Laufenberg have to say Theebs?

He said that he has been Tony's biggest supporter but after today He is OUT...Yes He said he is out. He then went onto say that romo isnt the guy and that the organization after a day like today has to watch the game and then realize they need to find another quarterback. THey cant win with him.

He also said that kitna and mcgee are not the answer and romo will have to play qb for now, but the team should find a new qb for the future because again, he said romo is not the player they thought he was.

The freak out over this, is about on par with the equivalence of the giants losing to minnesota in december of 07 after manning threw 5 picks and the media all giving up on him, the fans burning his jerseys in the parking lot and ernie acorsi the man who drafted him apologizing to the mara family for picking him......

its sickening.

Well is Laufenberg lying? And how many games did Eli have like that, compared to Romo? And I don't care about the other team's QB or the other team period. The Dallas Cowboys organization and players deserve better. The fans deserve better.

You have to cut ties sometime and somewhere. You cannot continue to support this crap, especially when he does not seem intent on learning from his mistakes. He's a gunslinger, and someone with that mentality, lives to take unnecessary risk. In the beginning it was fine and exciting, but not anymore.

Oh boy, even I know it would be nigh impossible to trade Romo after just converting a bunch of salary to bonus money when they reworked his contract.

Jason Garrett has no idea how to call a game in the second half, IMO. He used to, but I haven't seen evidence of it in a while.

What was this, 10 games decided by 4 points or less in a row?

We should have won by 30 or more points yesterday.

Jason kept going back to the same play calls. Eventually Detroit caught On.

I would have continued to abuse their defensive backs, but I would have been a little less predictable.

And as far as Rob Ryan goes, he is just as much on the hook today. Why did he change up his defense after it was working? Stafford didn't do anything in the 1st half, but Rob decided to let up and play soft zones.

Blaming the coach or the play calling for a QB that throws 3 of the dumbest picks ever in less than a half is pretty lame.

1st INT he didn't see one of the most invisible players in the history of the NFL. Romo's bad but he thought Dez beat his man. He missed the LB underneath.
2nd INT the CB jumped the route and made a one-handed INT. Great play by CB and Robinson could have done more to make a play on the ball.
3rd INT all Romo. Witten was open deep, he had his man by 2 or 3 yards. Romo threw it off his backfoot and underthrew Witten.

You don't forget how to call football games.

What do you call it?

No matter what kind of game we play for 3 quarters, we're always having to make a play on the final drive to win.

10 hames in a row now?

Garrett didn't throw the ints? Well f me.

There comes a point in games where an OC can protect his QB.

Garrett called the game as if Romo never made a mistake. Passing on 1st down twice and being intercepted twice.

Ever heard of milking the clock? Maybe some safe throw to restore confidence? Screens?

No, let's just fling it around the field. Someone will catch it.

DING, DING, DING. Winner!

The homers are protecting Garrett at all costs right now. Running the ball is stupid! Unless of course, Garrett decides to start running the ball. Then it's genius!

You can't have a feel for how to call a game, and suddenly lose it.
