Yet the Bears gave up a ton for Jay Cutler. The Redskins traded for McFlabb. Didnt the Chiefs give up quite a bit for Matt Cassel?

If the Cowboys made Romo available, I have no doubt at all that we could get a pretty significant package for him.

Now you're asking for another improbable...Jerry fleecing someone else in a trade.

Hey, dbair, props for the write up. Maybe I should've approached it like this instead of blowing off steam like I did in another thread.

I still have my doubts about Romo taking us to a SB, but at this point I still wouldn't trade him even though I'd like to strangle the shit out of him at this point.

And I still believe he's not the answer for us winning a championship. He reminds me of Danny White, but White took us to 3 straight NFC Championships. Romo, 2 playoffs appearances. I know I really shouldn't judge Romo because of that, but it just seems we can't take it to the next level with Tony.

Yeah, he's our best option to win now, but is he the QB to take us to a SB and win one? I don't think so. We are still waiting for that guy. I hope Tony proves me wrong, I really do, but he has me believing he's not the answer right now.

Demarcus ware didn't have a sack today, just think if we paired romo and ware for a trade..

We could draft a qb and and a pass rusher who gets sacks in the fourth qtr because our guys suck for sure...

Tis thread is irritating me even more after rereading it.

Your nonsense reply to my post is even more irritating.

Apparently cowboys fans don't realize how tough it is to even find COMPETENT qb play in the nfl, much less someone who can play at romo's elite level.

There are no sure things in replacements. I'll stick with the guy who is the reason we win at all.

Another well-written article, dbair.

It's the players I feel sorry for. The Oline was maligned and questioned as to how they would contain Suh and Vanden Bosch. Despite what you say cmd34, the Oline rose to the challenge and did what was asked of them, and beyond what was expected of him. Same for the secondary. People wondered how they would stop "Megatron", well in the first half they did just that. At the end of the first half, Stafford had a total of 37 yards passing and 1 INT. The Cowboys were up by 20 points.

Yet all of that was undone by ONE PERSON, and ONE PERSON ONLY. Blaming Garrett's playcalling and Jerry for being Jerry, is just flummery.

Romo shit and pissed on the collective efforts of the team today. TWICE, within less than a month.

If you are Romo, what do you say to your teammates? I fucked up... again.

The problem I see with all of this, is that some players may allow to creep inside their minds on why should they bother? They work hard and bust their ass, but the QB---their "leader", throws it all away. If he doesn't seem to care, why should they? And can you blame them for giving into that attitude?

We tolerate Romo, because he supposedly gives us the best chance to win, but the truth of the matter is that it's the players that put it out there and met the challenge today, that give us the best chance to win, along with a QB that gives a damn. Clearly that QB is not Romo.

Sad to report laufenberg even bailed on him on the score tonight....

Oh well there are only a few of us left.....the sorry thing is all these same people bailed on him in 06, the 07, then 08 then 09..... So I am not sure why I even give a shit what anybody thinks......same spot as 09....I'm all in.

I think we have enough of a sample size to make it up in our minds that this is as good as it's gonna get with Romo. We'll probably be treading water as long as he's our QB, because he's past the point where a veteran QB would stop playing like a rookie in stages. I doubt he's going to change. And we might as well trade him since we're essentially rebuilding anyways. So I'm down with the idea.

But the man upstairs, Jerry Jones, won't hear of it, so it's just a nice wet dream.

Rookies do not play like this. Rookies do not throw INTs on consecutive possessions. Rookies do not give up a 20 point lead. This is entirely something else with Romo. And you are correct. I've said the exact same thing: we're just now treading water with Romo. And what is the point of that?

Garrett NEEDS to have his own QB of his choosing that he can mold.

Yeah I am unsure about any of the cap implications, it might make th point moot. Although it appears the team will have alot of cap flexibility for 2012 so it might not be impossible.

We bit the bullet when we cut T.O. and Roy Williams. We shouldn't allow that to deter. Like you said, we need to think long term.

I think if Garrett and Stevie went to Jerruh and had a serious heart to heart about, they could talk him into it if they could get a substantial deal for him. I wouldnt consider it for any type of bargain basement deal, but if someone offers you a couple #1's (or more) then it might make some sense.

I'd be happy with a 1st and a 2nd.

I think the bigger question is.. when we have a fucking 17 point lead to start the second half, why the hell does Romo end up with fucking 50 pass attemps? Run the damn ball on offense and when you throw, attack the outside like we did in the first half and had great success.

On D, we were pressuring them hard the entire first half and that worked very well for us. We were smothering their offense. Second half? We just stop bringing pressure, start dropping more guys back, Stafford tears us up.

WTF are we doing out there?!

There's no explanation that'll make sense. We made adjustments like we were losing at the half.

Nobody gets back on Tony's bandwagon without asking one of us.
You just can't win the way we play. Living and dying on the arm of your qb. Thats why it took peyton so long. Thats why brady hasn't won since crennel left town. It's just not how you win.

I'm not bailing on him either, but there does come a point in time when you have to say enough is enough. There just isnt much excuse for what happened yesterday and he has these kinds of games every year.

I think he is a very good player, but I'm also tired of "well its my fault, I will learn"...he doesnt seem to learn
