Fair enough.. not saying you're wrong even. Im just over how he plays and him being injured all the time.

I'm not happy with Newman's injuries either, but that's besides the point. Newman is clearly the better corner.

Im not even going to argue that point, because i think you're right, i just don't think its by as wide of a margin as everyone else probably does. As i said above, for such a physically gifted athlete, im tired of Newman's mentality of not wanting to give up the big play. He lets so many balls be caught in front of him, even if he does make the tackle right away. This is why Jenkins is a better corner than him, because he contests passes. Newman doesn't do nearly enough of that for as great of an athlete as he is.

There's no doubt Newman has lost a step and has been injury prone, but until we find his replacement he's our starter. He still makes a lot of good plays.

Covering a guy like Johnson isn't an easy task either. You can only hope to contain him.

If we would have kept the pressure up in the second half i think it would have made it easier on all of our DB's.

Certainly covering Johnson isn't easy, but that play at the end on CJ's TD, he didn't even contest the pass. It was a throw and catch. Newman might as well have been on the sidelines.

Well, he wasn't on the sidelines, so might as well stop bitching about it.

That's not true, and it's already been explained. Yours is a horrible argument.

lol

Whatever you say bud. There was next to no contesting the pass. Newman didn't get a finger on it and didn't even see it for the matter. The only contesting of the play occured after the CJ was already on the ground with the ball secured and Newman dove on him like a cat on a mouse trying to rip it away, like it would've mattered or something.

The HC addressed this play expressly in his Monday PC. You should listen to it.

Here's your 'uncontested' pass:

Or check the video. Look at 3:10 for the defensive holding that cost us the tie. 3:25 for the read, break and contested jump ball that you refuse to see. It's pretty obvious.

So lets recap.. he never saw the ball, never got a finger on the ball, never got an arm between CJ's arms, and was behind him the entire play.. and then jumps on him after the play is over like he's going to knock the ball out like a goofball.

Gotcha.. great play by T New.

You're all over the place. The only thing consistent with your argument is that it's still wrong no matter which way you twist.

Actually i've been saying from the start that he barely contested the play, and after the picture and video confirmation it confirms he didn't see the ball or get a finger on it.. exactly what i've been saying this entire time. He also didn't get an arm between CJ's.. which would be what you want to try to do if you arn't turning to see the ball. He didn't do anything to contest the play.. until after it was over and he dove on him like a goof. Thanks for confirming it bro.

The video's right there. You're wrong. He saw the ball, and contested the play.

He saw the ball while his back was to it as he was running full speed to try to get back to his man who he inexplicably let get away from him only one yard off the LOS? No he doesn't ever see the ball, as evidended by his lame duck attempt at swatting CJ's hand. If he would have put his arm in between CJ's hands it would have been a much better attempt, and if he would've stayed with him and seen the ball coming and gotten a finger on it to break it up that would've been even better.

As it is, he did none of that.

If only Stafford had thrown the lob pass shoulder high to CJ (like Romo tried to do with Bennett)

Be quiet. You're talking nonsense. The video evidence is in the thread. The CB checked run, quickly identified the passing route, played the ball, and got beat because the guy he was covering is enormous and can jump and the QB threw the ball in the right location. Anything else you have to say on the matter is utter bullshit.

Pipe down yourself, junior. The video evidence is in the thread. Newman got beat like a sack of shit. How do you let your man (one of the best WR's in all of football) get that far away from you on the goalline? You say he saw the ball? While he was sprinting full speed to even be able to get back to CJ? Bullshit.. you're clearly wrong. If he had stayed with him the entire way and didn't have his back to the play he'd have had a much better chance of at least tipping the ball. As it is, he didn't see it, and didn't get his arm between CJ's which is what he should have since he never picked up the ball and had his back to the pass coming.
