So Jerry is no where to be found.

Jon Gruden hasn't interviewed with anyone.

Jason and Jerry haven't spoken yet.

Hmmmmmmm

Maybe Jerry and Jon are hiding away in a cabin in Montana interviewing, assembling a staff, and preparing plans for your 2013 Dallas Cowboys.

Man I can't wait until Tuesday.

Its also somewhat interesting that nobody at ESPN is commenting on Jon Gruden at all. No Shefter, Mortensen or Clayton coming out and stating that Gruden will definitely remain in the booth.

So all these other teams are filling their positions with college coaches and coordinators despite the fact that Gruden is "secretly" available? You think he only promised himself to Dallas or something? Face it: he's not coaching this year.

Its just people putting 2+2 together. Jones has disappeared, seemingly involved in discussions with others outside the organization. Supposedly he's already met with Gruden at least once. He wasnt going to make an announcement over playoff weekend, and Monday is the national championship game.

He'll meet with Garrett Tuesday morning and hopefully tell him he's been let go. They'll interview Skip Peete or Ray Horton to meet the ignorant Rooney rule requirement, then hire Jon Gruden before the end of the week.

I dont think he'd fire Garrett unless whomever his prime choice is as a replacement has already said they'd come and has everything lined up (ie his assisatnt coaching staff) the way he wants first.

If you're wrong, you have to be Bob's designated driver for a week.

I just can't believe with any rational thought, that any educated football man giving Jerry Jones advice, would suggest any course of action that DOESN'T include changing the head coach.

There's just too much evidence of how our head coach is a liability.

The offense was putrid.

Game plans were putrid.

In game adjustments were non-existant.

Boneheaded decisions.

Not managing the clock well.

Uncertainty on when to challenge plays.

6 years of the same offensive system, yet offense is still full of guys lining up wrong, running wrong routes, Romo shouting "Kill Kill Kill" with two seconds left on the play clock.

I just don't see how anyone worth his salt is going to say to Jerry, "Yeah, Jason isn't the problem. He just needs a playcaller and all will be okay."

You've got a 33 year old top flight QB.

You've got a 30 year old Hall of Fame TE.

You've got a 30 year old Hall of Fame DE.

You don't have time to keep "learning as you go."

So I believe that Jerry is getting advice to change head coaches.

And I believe Jerry is taking this week or taking his time in trying to swallow his pride and make this move.

So to me, it's a matter... does Jerry take the advice he's likely being given?

Or is he too stubborn or too much of an ass to give up his power, give up some control, and bring in a guy to make the move.

Remember, another thing that has to be weighing on Jerry - remember how much heat he himself was under after the Atlanta loss? Remember the media grilling him in the locker room? He couldn't even hide his angst under those condescending smirks he's famous for. He hated that.

I might be setting myself up for disappointment, but I really really really believe there's going to be a major change. I really think Jason gets shatcanned.

We need to do better in all three phases - offense, defense, and special teams

Didn't read Simmons column before wild card weekend. Reading this hurt.

I don't think the Redskins are good enough to win this game — even last Sunday, they benefited from three ghastly Tony Romo interceptions and some legitimate coaching incompetence on Dallas's end (really, you couldn't figure out a smart way to pick up those relentless blitzes, Dallas?) and barely won.

Feels bad man. That could have been us yesterday, getting curbstomped by Seattle at home.

I'm glad we lost against Washington - better draft pick. If Garrett comes back we'll have even better players this time when we go 8-8.

It's a process.

This should be its own thread. You make some good points in there...

One thing I don't get is how they can bring in an offensive play caller and still expect the players to have any faith in Garrett. I mean the one job that he has had for the entire time that he has been here and he continues to fail at it. So now you admit it and bring someone else in here to call plays, and then what? Jason Garrett is this "leader of men" guy all of a sudden..?

Jerry and co. would almost have to spin this.. Let Jason come out and say to he himself is interviewing/hiring people for the OC position so he can focus more on the whole team and then fire Ryan. He'd have to do that just to be taken serious as a head coach.

But at that point we would basically have a new staff.. So really, whats the point of keeping Garrett now?
