Yeah, it all depends on who these outside consultants are. If it's Mike Holmgren or Bill Parcells, it might be helpful in some small way. If it's Butch Davis, there's no use and this is all just bluster for the fans.

But if you're going to consult someone like Holmgren, then do it right. Just swallow your pride on your project coach and hire the guy.

It's hard to trust his words at all. They've known for years that Ginger has issues bc they wanted to bring in Reeves and finally did bring in Callahan to help prop him up. Why keep patching holes on a row boat when you can just go out and buy a freakin yacht?

He's either just angry and venting, or he's trying to say things that will keep the fans suckered in. Surely, guys like Parcells and Holgrem have to know this team was capable of winning 11-12 games with good coaching the last two seasons. That's what Jerry needs to hear.

I guess Dan Patrick is reporting something on this Jon Gruden thing again today. Maybe someone can find it, I just saw a post about it.

I just had a scary thought...

You know how Jerry is kind of a monkey see monkey do type?

What if he sees the read/triple option gay offense the Redskins are running, and decides he wants to sign.... Tim Tebow.... for some packages.

:errr

If you think about it, he has to make some sort of splash this off season.

We don't have the cap to sign anyone.

Doubtful we trade up two years in a row.

Unless he fires Garrett, then what would/could the splash be?

Maybe bring in the post popular/hated football player in the world and to run some gimmicky schemes like he went on and on applauding the Redskins for doing with their ugly QB.

RT @wanderingshane What would it cost us to dump Free in the offseason? - as post June 1 cut would save $7m.

Well that's 1 change

I'm going to be pissed if the only changes we make are cutting people like Ratliff, Free, and Austin.

I'd dump Wade Wilson and hire David Lee as QBs coach. He got dumped in Buffalo, I think.

The Brent situation and the Ratliff situation really hurt this team. DL, which was probably going to be a need anyway, is suddenly a huge need.

I like Harris, but if they cut Miles, they really don't have a #2 WR anymore.

How sad would it be if they cut Miles and go WR/RB in 1 and 2? That would be classic Jerry team building.

Unless we hire Gruden this team is hopeless.

How many offseasons have we had these same exact conversations?

Not really sure why people keep talking about him. He hasnt done shit in the NFL other than be on Parcells staff here.

Even Jones was smart enough to make fun of Tebow as a QB. It'll never happen.

I dunno. Developed Romo. Brought the Wildcat to the NFL. Was QB coach when Pennington took second in MVP voting.

What has Wade Wilson done?

He's an upgrade to Wilson, he's available, he was around during the development of the team's current starting QB, he's known to the organization and he's innovative.

He didnt develop Romo. He worked with him for a couple of seasons or so. Pennington was already an excellent QB before Lee had anything to do with him.

I dont think Wilson is great (maybe not even good) at all (seems to be verified by the fact nobody has ever requested he step up and become their OC, a logical move considering the passing game here has been good and Romo is a probowl calibar QB) but Lee is not a quality NFL coach either, and I certainly dont see where he'd be any kind of upgrade at all over Wilson.

What do you think a QB coach does? Who developed him? He has to get some credit for being Romo's QB coach when he made the transition from UDFA FCS QB to NFL benchwarmer to Pro Bowl QB. That alone is more than Wade Wilson has done ever. The closest thing to a QB ever developed under Wilson is Kyle Orton.

Romo was Pro Bowl QB prior to Wilson even coming to Dallas. In fact, his first Pro Bowl season was his first year starting (2006). Guess who his QB coach was? Lee.

Wilson is a crap QB coach who inherited Romo and presided over such QB'ing wonders such as Quincy, Hutch, Stoerner and Leaf while in Dallas and Rex Grossman and Orton in Chicago. He got handed a ready made Pro Bowler in Dallas. He has, literally, done nothing in the NFL.

If you don't like Lee, fine. But he's actually done something in the NFL, unlike Wilson, and would be an upgrade there. Could you get someone better? Maybe a college OC looking to make the leap to the NFL, but I'd definitely take him over a limp dick loser like Wade Wilson.

It is almost like all the things you are trying to give Wilson credit for are things that Lee has actually done.

No, still dont believe Lee has done anything dude.

He's a journeyman coach who like Wilson, will probably never make it to offensive coordinator

OK. You're entitled to your opinion, but personally, I think you're full of shit. lol

At least I offered some argument and rationale for my position.

Pretty sure I could give Sean Payton alot more credit on Romo than Lee

And outside of your pretty weak Romo argument, there's not any other relavence about David Lee out there anywhere to be found.
