What was I wrong about besides DEz having a breakout year?

I said it would take awhile to know if he line was good and I predicted the team to finish 7-9

The offensive line being OK with Livings and Bernadeaux

Good info. Thanks for sharing.

I can't get too amped on any position coaches anymore.

Callahan was considered a great OL coach, and the OL was pretty underwhelming.

Jimmy Robinson was considered a great WR coach, but outside of Dez and Harris, everyone else seemed to be mediocre or regressed.

I waver on Rob Ryan. I'm not sure his defense was really our problem. But yeah, that Seattle game was pretty bad and we were healthy then.

We can blame Ryan all we want. We clearly dont have the players on defense to be that good. We get zero push from our interior dline which gives each and every QB we face a nice comfortable pocket to throw in

I don't think Mack is that bad to be honest, right tackle and center were problems and smith had some struggles.

Both our lines have to be rebuilt with picks and mid level free agents.

Mickey said this morning that he interviewed Jerry for special edition (which airs sat night) and asked about the defense.

He said Jerry immediately said I didn't like he way we played against Seattle and Baltimore when we were healthy and didn't want to hear excuses.

Mickey said this morning he thinks rob Ryan's job is up in he air. Bryan claimed there more moves coming on the staff and that there was a philosophical-personal issue with peete, so he hc removed him.

Jim skipper was just fired in Tennessee, he was with Garrett in ny in 2000. He has coached a number of good backs to big seasons. He was deangelo Williams coach in Carolina and now they both are available.

My opinion on this is they are waiting to see who is available to replace what is here. Mickey mentioned that some titles could be changed and uf the coaches didn't like it they would be free to leave, is he reffering to Callahan?

I wonder if one of Garrett's other defensive guys he wanted to hire becomes available? What if we are waiting on lovie smith? Lovie worked with Ron turner in Chicago and is Texas guy.

What if we hire cam Cameron as offensive coordinator, skipper as backs coach, sporano as tight ends coach if John garret leaves callahan as assustant head coach/ line ciach and then fire the whole defensive staff and name lovie smith the new defensive coordinator and allow him to build a staff with Garrett on defense?

Broaddus also said there will most likely be a change at st coach.

I'd rather have Norv for OC than Cam Cameron. Getting Lovie Smith here as DC is a (crack)pipe dream. But yeah, Norv at OC and Lovie at DC... I'd be alright with Garrett staying as long as he STAY THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY. If Lovie doesn't get any HC offers, it'd make more sense for him to come to Dallas, and fix the defense, turn it around, and thereby raise his profile. People can say what they want about the Cowboys, but they are still one of the most visible franchises in all sports.

As much as I hate Garrett, I'd rather get rid of Ryan moreso, and scrap this 3-4 bullshit.

You're right. Lee, Carter, Ware, Claiborne, Carr, are all scrubs. You're right about the rest though. I think we have the players to be effective in the 4-3.

I completely disagree with you on Mack. Free was our biggest liability but Mack was a close second. Cook actually provided us at least a little stability after stepping in off the street but needs to be replaced. Livings was average to sub par and Smith to me was a big dissapointment given the change he had to make. I thought he would have been more dominant, but I will chaulk it up to him being young and changing positions

Lovie Smith as DC would make me (temporarily) get over Garrett staying.

That would be a game changer.

Moseley just tweeted that the assistants are left twisting in the wind right now.

I really hope dumbass Jerry is building the staff based off of some advisor like switzer or something.

Smith's personal life probably had him a bit off too I bet.

The defense kept the Cowboys in the game for much of the season. You can’t have comebacks if the other team continues to score. It’s whatever. If Ryan were to go, id like Garrett too aswell, but he seems to be the only untouchable. Everyone else it to blame BUT Garrett, lol. What a joke the franchise is.

Endless defensive coordinators have tried to make this group play up to its potential, all have failed. Good luck to the next victim in line.

Theebs is back? Woot!

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Rob were the scapegoat. Which is ridiculous because his side of the ball was the one with all the injuries everyone wants to use for an excuse. Garrett's side had a tenth of the injuries but was still a bigger wreck the first half of the year.

But hey, he's not in the family portrait, so cut his head off.

One potentially funny thing -- Rob seemed peeved about not being retained in Cleveland and that was when the HC got axed. He might have some interesting things to say about this organization if and when he gets canned.

Lovie and his own people running the defense would be an improvement to me, I think Ryan is terrible. He was our fifth option. He is not an in demand guy and has never done anything in this league.

Cam Cameron while run off in Baltimore at least helped build a good line in some capacity I imagine and a very good running game.

I bet Garrett trusts him to call plays, Same offense.

Cameron and smith would be big upgrades.

How does that work with Callahan? if Callahan leaves do we hire sporano to run the line for Cameron while Garrett oversees it all.

We need new coordinators without question IMO.

Lee played 6 games and Carter 10. Claiborne and Carr were average DB's. The problem with the defense is the dline not being disruptive at all.

Get pressure from the dline and Carr and Claiborne will be great

One good thing aout Rob Ryan being scapegoated will be he won't be afraid to blast the organization after he exits. That should be interesting.

Yea Lovie Smith’s defense collapsed and gave up on him this past season with all the talent they have. Epic melt down...he is the man for the job!

Cook would be a decent backup.

I don't see how Lovie Smith DOESN'T get a head coaching job.

In fact, I'm suprised he hasn't been hired yet.

Some coaches are head coach material, some are meant to be excellent coordinators.

Dick LeBeau failed as a HC in Cincinnati. Runs a prettty decent defense in Pittsburgh. Some might say he's a Hall of Famer.
