I don't see how Lovie Smith DOESN'T get a head coaching job.

In fact, I'm suprised he hasn't been hired yet.

You've obviously never watched a Bears game. Just bc they beat Dallas all the time doesn't mean they were a well-coached team.

The scheme is what is holding back many of these guys. Hard to be more than average when your coach asks you to NOT play to your strengths and coaches such a passive scheme overall. You cant let opposing QB's have an eternity to throw, Ryan's scheme allos them too much comfort.

RGIII is the perfect example of that. The dude hobbled around and still handled rob's D. He was in the process of doing the same against Seattle, but they made the necessary adjustments and ended bob's career till October. Rob wasn't able to scheme or adjust. To be fair though, Ginger is guilty of the same.

Carr made a statement at the end of these season that it took the coaches some time to learn how he plays and his strengths. It took Ryan some time to learn the NFC East. I think if you bring in another DC or hell a new HC, then he has to go through the same growing pains. So sick of the learning a new playbook, new system growing pains excuse.
So his first year he claimed he needed an entire year to learn the East, and now he needs an entire year to learn his players?

I'm neutral on Rob -- he's not great, not terrible. But enough with the lame excuses.

This isn't directed at you Theebs, just the info you relay.

Mickey said this morning that he interviewed Jerry for special edition (which airs sat night) and asked about the defense.

He said Jerry immediately said I didn't like he way we played against Seattle and Baltimore when we were healthy and didn't want to hear excuses.

Fuck Jerry. "I didn't like the way the defense played in games where my special teams gave up a TD and the offense couldn't score at all and turned the ball over".

Seriously, Jerry. Just shut the fuck up.

If this guy doesn't want excuses he should stop giving Garrett all the excuses in the world.

How about the way the defense played agains Tampa or Carolina when the offense was processing a big fat turd on the field? Bet he didn't mind sneaking out of those games with a win thanks almost entirely to the defense.

This fucker usually doesn't get on my nerves because I've accepted he's an idiot but this shit is just insane. Seattle scores 10 points off turnovers and somehow this asshole is pissed that the defense gave up 17 on their own when the offense couldn't do a fucking thing? The defense could have played a flawless game and surrendered zero points and those 10 points off turnovers would have lost the game because the offense wasn't doing shit.

Mickey said this morning he thinks rob Ryan's job is up in he air. Bryan claimed there more moves coming on the staff and that there was a philosophical-personal issue with peete, so he hc removed him.

Of course Rob Ryan would be an unknown right now. He's not part of the Garrett clan so he doesn't get automatic immunity.

And is it just me or anyone else sick of hearing about all this "bad fit" bullshit after players and coaches who have been around for a long time finally get told to take a hike? Skip was in Dallas for what, 6 years? How the fuck was he a good fit for years 2-6 but now all of a sudden he's a bad fit because of philosophical issues? By philosophical issues, undoubtedly it's probably Pete's desire to run the ball while Garrett just won't have any of it.

Who was the WR coach a couple years ago? Ray Sherman? He had 4 seasons and then all of a sudden once he was fired........"Oh, that Ray Sherman just wasn't a good fit" or whatever the fuck the issue was. The same Ray Sherman who helped develop Austin for a large portion of time leading up to that breakout 2009 season. Yeah, sounds like a bad fit to me.

You could probably name off a dozen or so players who after significant time with the team just "didn't fit" anymore. And when Ratliff gets cut soon, we'll hear all about how he was a bad fit because he didn't stand there and act as Jerry's whipping boy in the locker room. Fuck Jerry and everyone that looks like Jerry.

Jim skipper was just fired in Tennessee, he was with Garrett in ny in 2000. He has coached a number of good backs to big seasons. He was deangelo Williams coach in Carolina and now they both are available.

My opinion on this is they are waiting to see who is available to replace what is here. Mickey mentioned that some titles could be changed and uf the coaches didn't like it they would be free to leave, is he reffering to Callahan?

Probably. Callahan is a guy who's supposed to work under Garrett and probably has some different views about the offense which automatically means he's now another square peg trying to fit into a round hole and only a year after being hand picked by the Head Daywalker himself, Garrett.

I wonder if one of Garrett's other defensive guys he wanted to hire becomes available? What if we are waiting on lovie smith? Lovie worked with Ron turner in Chicago and is Texas guy.

Lovie Smith doesn't deserve to work under a coach and owner like Dallas has. He's a guy with a solid resume, coming off a rare season where 10 wins wasn't enough to get to the playoffs and he was doing it with an OL as bad as Dallas' and a QB who is worse.

What if we hire cam Cameron as offensive coordinator, skipper as backs coach, sporano as tight ends coach if John garret leaves callahan as assustant head coach/ line ciach and then fire the whole defensive staff and name lovie smith the new defensive coordinator and allow him to build a staff with Garrett on defense?

Honestly, if Lovie Smith was willing to work for this team I'd probably be ecstatic. That guy can coach a defense. Over the past 9 seasons the Bears have almost 70 more takeaways than the league average. That's almost 90 more than Dallas. This would be the only move short of a HC switch that would make me feel any better about all this bullshit "changes" talk.

As far as Cam Cameron goes, what does that make Garrett's job? Master planner who has time and time again proven that he isn't ready to be a HC? Awesome, the streets will be flooded with celebration for that move.

Broaddus also said there will most likely be a change at st coach.

Fuck, how many years late? I guess the complete failures on a regular basis we saw in the years through 2011 was a good fit when moving into the 2012 season but after watching the same thing happen for like a 4th or 5th season it's no longer a good fit.

A lot of truth in what you wrote Hoofbite. Especially the "bad fit" comments.

Ray Sherman was a highly regarded WR coach while here. Then he was Garretts first fire. Not saying anything about Skip Peete because I really don't know anything about him... but like you said, he's been here for years. When did he become a cancer?

I understand the sherman thing completely. Jimmy Robinson and garret are pretty close, he was going to bring him here no matter what.

All coaches make that type of move.

The peete move if it is the only move makes little sense. If there are a bunch of moves and they change up all the assistants then it is part of a bigger change.

Lots of teams change coaches.

If it is just peete that looks really bad on this organization.

Ed werder is coming on with Galloway in a minute.

They are saying it is uncomfortable at the ranch for the assistants I guess.

I will update what he says if someone doesn't beat me to it.

breaking story..equipment guy to blame for lack of running game. He will be fired.

Hey Bucky has been here forever and his dad was the guy before him!

He gets his job done.

Let Jerry hire a new guy and we will end up with the road uni's for a home game.

Older players on there way out.

Spears played on bad knees and might retire.

Coleman will be replaced.

Are u one of these people that thinks every player needs to be a pro bowler?

No. Just productive. It's asking alot I know

Ed is saying

Meetings are on going right now on the staff. If more offensive assistants get fired its to setup norv to hire his own offensive staff and take over calling plays.

Said rob Ryan should be nervous.

Jerry is upset that Bennett went to ny and had a better season in 1 year than he did in four years here. Moseley asked if Jason might have to fire John Garrett over this and Ed said that might happen because Jerry is so upset about this.

One, most of us saw that coming.

Two, Jerry does realize there's this guy named Jason Witten here?

Three, Bennett tried harder once he got to New York, IMO.

My god thank you

So we shouldn't sign any players to a one year deal because essentially the entire first year will be considered their learning curve

Meh. If Hanna develops, Bennett will be ancient history.
