He also made some other ridiculous claims, like the 2nd amendment does not cover machine guns and cannons. Is the guy who claims he graduate at the top of his class in law school really that ignorance of this country's history? George Washington's army borrowed cannon from private owners to fight the revolutionary war. The founding fathers were well aware of how an armed citizenry can benefit the country. When they spoke of a well armed citizenry, what does Biden think they meant, people with 4 arms?

Also, US citizens can still buy cannon and machine guns. There is a process they have to go through and it can be expensive but it is legal in many states.

It baffles me how many of our elected representatives, and even a president, do not understand the constitution, the laws of the land and the history of our country.

80% of violent crime in America is gang related, that includes shootings. More than half of gun deaths are suicides. Over 47,000 people killed themselves in 2021. There were less than 20,000 homicides in 2021.

The problem with guns is overstated but the problem of violent gangs and a violent subculture is ignored.
