No we couldn't have unless we traded up, he was picked before we had a chance to pick. No first for Teh Joey! I wanted him bad in that draft.

If we still had our first round pick for not trading Galloway we could have traded down to late in the first round instead of trading down to late in the 2nd round.

I'm sorry Jerry ever bought the team and I have no faith in him or his son looking forward. Our best days are behind us.

What a f'in idiot then.

We have won 3 super bowls. Jerry may have had very little to do with any personnel involvement, but he DID hire Jimmy Johnson. And without Jimmy we dont win those 3 super bowls.

And as much as some of you dipshits hate Jerry, he is NOWHERE near as bad an owner as Bum Bright was.

Bum bright was pretty awful.

Doesnt change anything about the current status of the team though.

Well fuck you too then. Yes he did hire Jimmy, but he also ran Jimmy off and ended our dynasty just as it was reaching its golden age. I'm not sorry the team was sold I am just sorry it came to a man who has utterly ruined it. I am not going to kiss is ass for hiring Jimmy when he is also responsible for the last 1.5 decades of total disappointment.

Saddam Hussein wasn't as bad as Hitler.

Therefore, those Iraqi people really had no right to complain.

He knew Jimmy from his playing days at Arkansas. They were buddies. That is the only reason Jerry was able to bring in Jimmy. It wasn't that he had this brilliant idea that Jimmy Johnson would be a Superbowl coach.

Jerry "lucked" into Jimmy.

That much is clear.

How else do you explain the complete ineptitude he's displayed in hiring virtually every other coach under his watch?

Bum Bright didn't hire ****** coaches and take over the personnel dept himself.

+1 for Bum Bright.

He knew him from his days in Arkansas. If not for that connection Jimmy never would've been here.

And since those days Jerry hasn't wanted to give anyone power like Jimmy had which explains the Switzer's, Gailey's, Campo's, Wade's and Garrett's. Only following the three 5-11 Campo years and when Jerry wanted backing for a stadium, did he bring BP and give him nearly the same power Jimmy had. But once things got righted, Jerry went right back to his same old way.

I guess you're probably right.

Jerry went out with strict and specific criteria on what a model, winning head coach was.

He did his research, and upon completion, realized Jimmy was his guy.

When Jimmy resigned, Jerry did the same extensive research and interviews, with a similar model in his mind. Barry, Chan, Dave, and Wade are all near Jimmy clones, afterall.

When you refuse to give the man credit for anything he's done while owning the franchise you lose all credibility on the subject and just look like a scorned lover. Blaming him for every wrong move while simultaneously stripping him of credit for any right moves is just pathetic. He's either making the decisions or he's not. He either deserves credit when things go bad/good or he doesn't.

Or you can be a ****** and claim that neither is true. It's a neat trick people pull with things like "god" where they give him all the credit for things that go well and none of the blame for things that go wrong, only with Jerry you're doing the exact opposite. They're equally silly and irrational positions to have.

Yeah, I think all the good things were Jerry and all the bad things were when he took a sick day and wasn't around. Gotcha.

oh right people aren't capable of making good decisions AND bad decisions throughout their lives it is either one or the other.

With Jerry it's been mostly bad. But no, not all of Jimmy's decisions panned out, but there were far more that did which is why we won 3 SB's. And not all of Jerry's have been terrible, but enough have been to cause us to only have 1 playoff win in over 15 years.

But spin it how you want. Bottomline is that Jerry and his ego have wrecked this franchise.

And at the same time if he doesn't hire Jimmy and create the 90s dynasty we're 2-3 in super bowls and 4 behind Pittsburgh.
