The Bengals did go out and draft Jermaine Gresham in the first round of the next draft..so there may be something to the "story".

even more than that, there vet tight end whos name escapes me at the moment was injured in training camp....they were on hard knocks that year.......and they needed a tight end desperately.

they had a good year that year..

oh and you can believe the story because its from cbs11!!!

So they were offering a #1 and Chris Henry?

Because everybody else has said Henry was a part of the deal.

Removing mouths from Steve Dennis's penis area for just a moment will allow one to see that others, including connected sources within the Bengals organization, completely denied the trade.

It was a leverage ploy.

first.

It wasnt a steve dennis deal, it was babe and that is why he said it on the air because clearly he was told this by someone on the staff, whichever of the guys he talked to on the field that day.

Secondly, why would the bengals ever confirm it? there is no need to.

and Finally what leverage? Who would have any leverage from this? There is nothing to be gained via leverage. Completely lost with what you mean by this.

I dont believe it either, especially when the Bengals also denied it ever happened.

They confirmed the same thing the local Dallas paper reports said, that they offered the Cowboys a middle round pick and a "starung calibar player", it was speculated that player was WR Chris Henry

Butterfly effect. Not making the trade killed Chris Henry.

Thanks a lot Jerry

Devin mccourty is fuggin awful

If they dumped him march 1st I would take him in a heartbeat.

if new england dumped mccourty march 1st I would take him in a heartbeat also.

corners are up and down, we see that with jenkins.

I would be happy right now with wilson, mccourty or robinson. It would keep us out of free agency and from overdrafting someone at 14 because of need.

So why do you take what Babe says as gospel yet believe Mosley is just making shit up?

Mosley was not the only person saying Henry was part off the deal there were "sources" from valley ranch saying the same.

babe has access the writers and tv guys dont have.

i see him every week on the field talking with the most important people in the franchise before the game.

plain and simple. He never makes stuff up and does not go around proclaiming things like this, it was something told to him and it was the reason no one else could get actual confirmation on it.

Everyone else simply does not have the access. They all know a few people here and there in the scouting department and in the coaching staff.

and on mosely, he was tight with david lee and tony romo for a long time, then he became galloways little buddy and turned into a dick and lost the romo contact along with other players. his main go to guys in the staff were part of parcells staff and are long gone. I dont believe he made it up, i believe he was just told that because no one gives a shit about mosely imo, they know his deal. He usually has the cowboys pick right on the friday before the draft though.

alot of those guys at espn 1033 use bryan broaddus as a source constantly and he is pretty much wrong more than he is right.

So give me the top 5 Babe scoops because I can't remember him breaking anything of importance.

And to put all of your faith in any media guy is extremely naive

whatever.

if he were just a media guy I wouldnt put faith in him.

If you dont like him fine, chances are you probably dont live in the area and dont know the local media ins and outs.

better than frank walker

good enough to win two games in the playoffs.

he is in big trouble sunday though for sure.

McCourty should be better, he's a young player who was recently a first rd pick. Walker is a journeymen.

right, like I said earlier, corners are up and down because they basically play what is an impossible position currently in the league.

mccourty had a tough year.

If they wanted to get rid of him I would take him in a heartbeat.

I have no doubt the Cincy 1st was offered.

They used the same pick to take a TE.

I don't think Babe would come on air and flat out lie. He has real connections to the franchise, why jeopardize that with false information?

Just a stupid fucking move no to do it.

Now we watch him go play somewhere else and get nothing.

Now we watch him go play somewhere else and get nothing.

That is the bigger point. Arguing about whether it was a third and Henry or a first is irrelevant.

We had an immature underachieving reserve that for some reason had trade value, but we instead clutched him desperately to our bosom like he was irreplaceable. Same goes for Tashard Choice.

We had several years here recently where we were regarded (right or wrong) as having a "talented roster", yet we hung onto practically anyone that could have conceiveably had value to another team.

One thing I used to be happy about with the Cowboys especially back in the 1970s is that we always had the upper hand. We traded reserves for picks. We took advantage of other teams. We traded people like Craig Morton when the time was right. We ripped off other teams with regularity. Now, it is just sad. We have absolutely no sense of timing. We hang onto players and get nothing for them. We end up trading for players like Roy Williams who we could have had for nothing. It is just sad to watch.

We could have drafted Brees in 2001 instead of Carter, and that would have a huge impact on the team's direction over the last decade. Parcells would have actually been successful here with a quality QB he could trust.

No we couldn't have unless we traded up, he was picked before we had a chance to pick. No first for Teh Joey! I wanted him bad in that draft.

It's all about the name on the jersey with you, now.

HUH?

no the point was mccourty had a bad year this year but is not a bad player. just like mike jenkins up and down production but still a good player.
