Argument from ignorance. You and peplaw06 keep repeating this same faulty argument over and over and fucking over again.
You keep on saying that, but you don't understand that you are doing the same thing. Y'know specks and planks in the eye and all that stuff.

Yea, that the Christian life changing experience is not real and i went on to clarify what i was talking about. Keep my words in its proper context. Have you seen me say that i know that there are no gods in the universe? No.
I've never maintained that I KNOW that there is a God. Don't know why you can't comprehend that. I've only said it at least 5 times.

So the evidence for a god in your opinion is: Empirically likely? Empirically provable? or Absolutely provable? Just trying to understand your position.

Oh sorry I don't have all the answers Ed Harris. I just know we went from being fish to sending a man made craft into the edge of space in a couple years and I think there's something smarter out there than us which explains this quantum leap.

Monkeys are peeing into their mouths and we are colliding particles. This seperation occurred because they lived in the northern hemisphere and us the south?

And there are still single cell organisms out there. Crazy.

It's not just that you don't have all the answers - saying god or aliens did it doesn't answer anything, it just creates more questions. Why did they help us? Why did they stop helping us? etc etc etc... It also doesn't provide any value to society. Whereas an inquiry into our past as a species allows us to make advances in medicine that wouldn't be possible if we were just like aliens did it - because when that's our answer to these questions we end up with faith-healers who are tying bottles of wolf blood around your neck and saying prayers to heal you.

I don't give a shit about the evidence for sun light and whether it comes in a wave or a particular. I feel sunlight on my face, therefore it exists and that is enough for me.

I feel god in a similar way, so who gives a ahit about who can prove what? Give me a 1,000 years and the help of a 1,0000 monkey lab assistants and I still wouldn't be able to prove sunlight either. I save that shit for better minds becaus frankly it doesn't matter

Religious and political threads crack me up.

Everyone is out to prove their "rightness".

Just believe what you want and accept the fact that not everyone is going to believe the same.

Want to be an atheist, have at it.

Want to subscribe to one of the numerous mutually exclusive religions, be my guest.

Want to be a republican, go for it. Democrat, good for you.......I couldn't care less.

Why does any single opinion have to dominate the masses? It's fucking stupid that people take sides and attack dissenting views simply because their local politician or pastor told them to.

What ever happened to people just living "their" lives instead of trying to influence or oppress someone else's?

I do care about what i believe and what is true and not true. If you don’t, then i don’t know what to tell you. I just don’t see by what standard you make choices by. Believe in anything that “feels good”? Others admit to not having enough proof but that’s ok, i’ll believe anyways because i was raised in Christian America and it’s politically correct to believe in god!

What's your point? Because you don't know you choose the smug invisible spaghetti monster side?

I heard someone talking yesterday about science and religion, and about possibilities.

I guess his point was, when a guy refuses to keep an open mind to the existence of God, his motivation goes from scientific, to political.

Does that make sense?

Yeah... true scientific minds don't discount possibilities/hypotheses until a theory is proven one way or the other.

How many thousands of years of human history?

We;ve had all sorts of gods.

And not a single shred of evidence that a single one of them exists.

At some point it's time to drop the wishful thinking and settle in to reality. I have my mind closed to the existence of fairies, and Zeus. I'm 99.9999% sure neither of those things exist. If I see one someday, I'll believe in it. Why do any of the current iterations of God deserve any more respect than that and why does it make me closed-minded to dismiss them?

It goes back to belief.

We all believe in something that can't be shown, or something we can't see. People are different. Some people believe different shit.

There's no proof that a Christian God doesn't exist either.

That was the point.

IMO, you can't side with science and be sure there isn't a God. That is, until science proves otherwise.
