You're really great at observing threads and then pointing out what you believe posters should have done differently in them. And by great I mean terrible, Captain Hindsight.

It's a debate. Don't get butthurt when you get called out over an obvious flaw in your thinking.

is his knowledge an altar boy?

Too soon?

I believe you're wanted in PA, Sandusky.

http://bwi.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?SID=890&fid=36&style=2&tid=155729461&Page=3

The one thing that bothered me in McQueary's story is that all he heard was what "might have been" skin on skin slapping. To me, that easily could have been splashes of water cascading off their bodies and hitting the tile below. The sound is eerily similar as I noticed while showering at the gym today. Throw in the echo factor of a large, empty gym shower!

If a full grown adult male was anally raping a ten year old boy, I would assume that there would be screaming. I'd assume that there would also be blood.

I'm going to be blunt about this, but if Sandusky could not fit, then you must acquit.

When you consider that JS is a pretty tall guy, and the average 10 year old is 4.25 feet tall, and the boy was standing with his hands on the wall, I'm having a difficult time believing anal sex was taking place between the two.

I suspect JA will raise this in his defense.

I mean these are all great points, Penn State fans.

I am about to go inside of Home Depot for little while. I want to answer your questions. Could you better describe what you mean by sovereignty? There could be a few things that you're referring to and I just want to make sure that I know what you want to know about.

Does your god control everything? When a disaster happens, do you give him credit? I’m not setting you up or anything, just curious.

Skidadl, i just want to know your other views like an eternal hell and the sovereignty of god. Do you believe the bible is perfect = no errors? Do you believe the earth is 10 thousand years old? Who was at the tomb of Jesus? Can you put all those event in chronological order?

I believe that external hell does exist. That it is separation from God and that it leaves a void for eternity. Life apart from God is a kind of hell, IMO.

Sovereignty - IMO its important to understand the flow of how things unfolded to get an understanding of where I am coming from. So please endulge me for a sec, if you don't mind. I believe the the following things about that:
1) God created man in His image, to be like Him, to have unlimited access to the fruits of earth. Man was given dominion and ruler ship over the earth. God gave man total control over the future of the planet.
2) the fall of man took place and that privilege was revoked. Enter teh debil and his reign began. Because of the fall of man universal spiritual laws took over. Example: depraved men did bad things so life sucked worse and bad things happened. Like, if you take a dumb in the lake long enough eventually someone is going to get sick.
3) Enter the Abrahamic covenant. God restored things to His people
4) Enter Jesus. Now everyone, including the non-Jews can receive the Abrahamic covenant. Now everyone that receives Jesus and acknowledges their need for a savior can fully enter into His promises to the degree that they can receive it (it's not automatic). The authority of the earth is returned to believers.
So to answer your question, yes I do beleive that God is sovereign. He stands alone without need of anything.

Do I beleive that gays and whatever stupid thing you can think of caused Katrina and the like? No I don't. Jesus said that He didn't come into the world to judge it, He came to set it free. I believe that the problems that you see are the fault of the believers not taking their proper role in the earth. God gave us dominion over the earth.

That's my quick, pound it out on the keyboard version. Probably not explained thoroughly enough but there it is. Long day for me.

Do I believe the bible is perfect with no errors - no I do not. What I do believe is that the errors are translative in nature. That the nature of God is clearly graspable throughout scripture. That His plan for mankind and His plan for redemption is not lost. So yes, I do believe it is the word of God and that the errors are minor. This idea that folks ripped out pages and made stuff up completely different from its original meaning is Discovery Channel theology. Hey, if you are into that go for it but don't pretend that you have some deep ideas about the bible based in that.

Do I beleive that the earth is 10,000 old - I do not know. What I think is this - I believe that in the end there will be a ton of smart people that thought that they knew what they were talking about that finds out that they were completely wrong about a bunch of stuff. I also believe that the same will happen for a ton of good willed, bible carrying dudes will do the same. I think that we will all see that our arrogance got the best of us. ALL of us.

Who was at the tomb of Jesus - what do you mean exactly?

Can I put all of this in chronological order- do you mean all of the questions that you asked? That doesnt make sense to me.

The order of the events after Jesus was supposedly resurrected.

Is this Pass/Fail or graded on a point system?

Seriously, if you are getting at a point then just go for it. It saves lots of typing for everyone involved. My wife loves to ask 3-4 questions leading up to the real question that she wants the answer to. Right now I desperately need to get the image of you being a hot, Hispanic woman. It's making me feel a little guilty because it's kinda turning me on.

Noone wants to be told how to live their life. If the church tried to play it your way and shout down premarital sex and recreational drug use they'd have no congregation. They had to get with the times or become insolvent. Is that the right word? Do they have debts? Anyhow...go broke. That didn't start in America Europe is even more....tolerant? And they're losing members even faster. The reality is the church and religion in general has outlived it's usefulness, and is subsequently losing membership, so they try to change to keep up with the times...but it's tough to make people want to do things on Sunday morning.

But they are within their rights. Let's take a hotbutton issue - the gays and whether they can marry. The hardcore Christian will say no, and he will cite all sorts of biblical hate speech that decries man lying with man and how they won't inherit God's kingdom. The moderate Christian might say yeah the bible says all that but who am I to judge, I'm not perfect. The liberal Christian will take Christ's message of all inclusive love and declare that noone should be left out or discriminated against. So who is right? Shall we have a battle of proof texts where the liberals are citing Jesus nonstop and maybe even citing the Greek to promote the point that men lying with men did not actually refer to homosexuality itself but something different while the hardcore's go apeshit on the Old Testament? Who's gonna sit back and judge that contest? Who has the right? How would we know?

There's no way. Theology isn't something empirical, that can be proved or disproved like math or physics. It's people's best guesses at interpretations of a very old, error-filled and self-contradictory book.

By the way, you first went off about how I was somethingsomethinghighground and then I let you know that I'm not in the minority on this. Not with church leadership anyway. Anyhoo, instead of saying, oh yeah, you are right...you just continued with a bunch of stuff about morality and how you perceived that's what I meant.

Here's the problem I'm seeing:

1) you still have no freakin idea what I'm talking about

2) you thought you knew and then you proceeded to agree with me while disagreeing with me on an issue that you wrongly assumed that I was saying.

Your stance on the rapture was interesting to me because it was one of the first things i started to question when i was a Christian years ago. I thought maybe you has some “free thinker” in you because you had took such a radical stance. You answers to hell, the sovereignty of God, ect, sounded very cookie-cut Christian dogma BS that everyone spews. Then you refused to understand the issue with resurrection story. If i have to spell it out for you, then we might as well just stop and save us the time.

You started out radical and interesting and ended up boring and politically correct. The fact you need to feel lust to have a conversation shows your faith is shallow and meaningless.

Most Hispanic dudes are feminine anyways. They love them tight jeans and shirts. Plus everlasting has that creative side that gay men crave.

Typically in a debate it makes more sense to bring out the issues instead of making generalizations about one's faith, beliefs or ideas. That's not really original or free thinking. Matter of fact, that's the epitome of narrow minded.

Are you of the opinion that challenging discrepancies between the gospel account is something earth shattering and original? Actually, I have no idea what you were getting at because you never did say.
