They're clearly in the right in terms of exercising their opt out option. You came in here full moron talking about how they somehow violated the previous CBA. Uh, no....they didn't.

I didn't say they violated anything.. this is what i mean about you and comprehension. lol

I said the owners agreed to a deal, then because of their own stupidity driving up salaries.. they backed out of their agreed to deal and cried that they were losing money.

They then balked however on providing any proof to their claims that they weren't making money.

They also struck an illegal tv deal before they opted out of their agreement to give themselves insurance for when they instituted the lockout, insuring that all the franchises and owners still got paid.

They then claimed that the players side wasn't operating in "good faith". (A favorite of mine btw lol )

They now want to force the players back to their 2009 level of income and offer them no chance to share in any growth of the league until at least 2015.

But yea.. the owners are definitely in the right here. Imbecile.

Why?

Because you don't understand the situation. That's why you also support the players.

They didn't back out of a deal. They chose an option within that deal. Nothing unprofessional, nothing classless, nothing wrong about it.

Oh, no. The owners want to force the players back to their 2009 pay scale.

Ya know, when they were pinching pennies playing this game.

The owners can do whatever they want. They are the owners. Owners own things. Owners control the things they own. They own the teams. The players play for teams. Teams that are owned by the owners. The players are employees, not share holders.

F the players.

F the Owners too, but a little less than the players.

That about sums it up for me.

I see this CBA situation as an opportunity to put the players back in their proper place.

And it still could happen.

Most fans just want it over. And since they worship players, they side with them.

I'd say when the players asked that the league commissioner not sit in for negotiations, we've reached a point of no return. They are way out of line and have been for years. They aren't entitled to a thing.

The players are the league, you moron. The owners make millions off of their blood, sweat and tears and you want to **** the players and let the rich get richer. This is a labor versus ownership battle and I will always side with labor because I am tired of seeing the richest assholes in the world screw over the hard workers because the assholes were born in the right place, at the right time and to the right family.

Correction.. the owners CAN'T do whatever they want. That's why you are seeing this whole mess play out, and why they lost their first case in court. Im sure the owners would LOVE to be able to do whatever they want, but unfortunately for them, there are rules and laws that even the richest men in the world must abide by.

Quoted for truth. The players are the foundation of the league, and the modern day gladiators that put their entire well being and life on the line everyday. Yet some want to defend the fat cats who sit on their asses and get rich off of these guys.

Ultimately they can. They could shut the whole thing down and start a different league if they really wanted. Nobody could stop the league from folding if that's what the owners decided on.

We all know it isn't going there, just saying.

They did act unprofessionally, but not because of that. I never claimed that they broke a rule when they opted out. You're obsessing over that one point shows that you have little knowledge of the subject and little to no argument as to why the owners are in the right here lol.

Why don't you go play on your tricycle? Its a nice day out..

As i said, there are rules and laws that even they have to follow. And the "law of common sense" prohibits them from doing what you suggested there, as all the owners would really have a legit money problem if they ever tried to shut down and start up a new league.

I have a problem with the "the players are the league" arguement. Players come and go every year. The teams are the only constant. I tune in to watch the Dallas Cowboys, not so and so who plays for the Cowboys.

You don't root for the players. You just think you do. You root for the teams. I don't give two f'n shats who is wearing the uniform. I only care that our uniforms win.

Exactly right.

You are a Dallas Cowboys fan. You only like players on this team because they play on this team.

The owners are the league. Because they own the teams. And that's the draw. That's the one constant through time. The Dallas Cowboys.

Bullshit. If the Dallas Cowboys consisted of "joe the garbageman" at QB and "harry your friendly neighboorhood postal worker" at RB you wouldn't give a damn about the team.

These guys are the top athletes and the best football players in the world. We watch for their talent. They are superstars with freakish ability and will power and drive.. without the players there would be nothing. Its not like the "players" consist of 3 or 4 people and that's it.. the players union includes everyone in the sport, and everyone who gets drafted each year. Its not like they exclude any players. They are behind every guy who plays the sport who puts his life on the line everyday for our amusement and enjoyment. They deserve to be paid for that risk.. as they are. However, i have a problem when owners greedily drive up salaries because they just HAVE to have these average talent guys and pay them outrageous salaries each year, which in turn drives up the prices of more highly talented players as well.. and then finally they cry foul and try to get us to feel sorry for them when the shit finally hits the fan and they realize that paying borderline NFL players superstar money has its downside.

Yes, it shows I have a problem.

Not that you're an idiot who doesn't know what the F he's talking about. Or that you'd be laughed out of the NFL offices with your ridiculously juvenile stance.

And now I'm supposed to sweep that gem under the rug and take something else you have to say seriously.

Uh, no.

Go ahead.. i'll wait kid.

This league was built by "Joe the garbageman" types.

I don't give a shit about any player in this league other than how he's playing at his position for my favorite team. WIll I root for a player to do well? Sure. That helps the cause. If said player was traded tomorrow, he would then be asked to go F himself by me.

I root for the Cowboys. I'm not saying my way is the only way, but it is my way.

I don't need to show you. I don't dance to your tune. I'm not going to waste one second of my time digging through your inferior archives to prove something to somebody who lacks the intelligence level to get it.

I remember your first response to all this CBA nonsense. Might have been one of your first posts on this forum. THEY BACKED OUT! THEY BROKE TEH CONTRACTAS!!!!

Your stance is a simple one. The posters on your wall are of players, not owners. You've spent your whole life worshipping players, as if they give a flying F about you in return. When you ran up pen in hand to get an autograph, it was of a player. So naturally your support goes to your heroes.
