So apparently the Cowboys want Demarco's agent to keep them posted on the kind of offers he's getting and they'll see if they want to match. They believe the market for him is small and that he won't be getting a lot of guaranteed money.

I wonder what Demarco thinks about that?

Eagles have roughly $8 mil cap hit on Matthews and Sproles for 2015. If they were to sign Murray, they're probably looking at an $8 mil cap hit on him at least. They have $3.4 mil dead money for McCoy. That's almost a $20 mil cap hit on RBs alone... them signing Murray would be crazy -- even crazier than what they have already done.

I know he likes it here, but I'd have to tell them to go fuck themselves.

Man, I wonder what DeMarco was thinking 2 weeks ago? I bet it went a little something like this:

"yo damn dawg homey g ima be a made nigga yo all dese peeps gon wanta givame ton o money yo. dey gona be ona me like I wazz on dat beetch niggas wife yo"

Poor guy, now look at him.

Mortensen tweeted that Murray made a personal phone call to Chip Kelly to re spark interest.

I think the Cowboys have no plans of re-signing Murray. It's all a front. Get the 'word' out that they want to make a deal, but in everything else; piss off Murray to the point where he doesn't want to re-sign in Dallas anyways.

Maybe, but at this point who are we going to bring in if he goes somewhere else?

Also, I know RBs have been undervalued lately, but I don't think it's totally out of the question that both good RBs go before #27. Gurley might not, but only because of the knee. And are we sure the knee will be 100%? Sam Bradford's wasn't.

Sounds like DeMarco's camp believes nothing has a chance of increasing the Cowboys offer to him greater than threat of him signing w/Eagles

Good point Bill...

Hell, that may help the Eagles too... Chip Kelly could just give him an outrageous offer to see if Dallas would overpay. Are there CBA rules preventing a team from pulling an offer?

I know Jerry must be sweating his ass off right now while Stephen whispers in his ear to stay the course while smoothing his father's hand.

The Cowboys have some balls though and right now it's all going according to plan. They've kind of called this one brilliantly. Just 3 or 5 years ago, Murray would have already had a new, big ass, long term guaranteed contract on the eve of FA. Probably even mid-season. Now Murray's stock is plummeting towards a cap-friendly deal for the Cowboys.

Kudos to whoever's decision this is.

Even if the Eagles sign Murray. Who's Bradford going to throw to to make us pay for run-blitzing the hell out of them?
