Everything I'm reading is indicating Murray will end up with the Jags or Raiders..

Mike fisher tweeted that Jason and Murray had a "significant" one on one meeting tonight at the Mavs game.

Like I couldn't hate Garret more.

This meeting just reminded me of one of those nasty chocolates you get in those sees candy boxes. The one that is chocolate(Murray)with nasty orange(Garrett) filling.

Garrett was probably just sucking up like he always does... You know, "Don't hate me Demarco, I wanted you back" type shit.

surprising amount of animus towards DeMarco on this board. if we have a feature back next year who gets within 600 yards of Murray's 2014 totals, I'll be happy.

Agreed. DeMarco left some yards on the field, but he is a very good RB. I would love to see a more explosive RB with better vision, especially after they break the initial containment, but that is a very rare freak. He saved Romo more times than I can count. I want AP.

If the money was there to fix the defense, pay Dez and Murray long term, I'd be okay with him coming back.

As it stands, it's just not. He's a better back than he gets credit for, but not so special that you have to put the team in a bad financial position in order to keep him. That's the way I look at it.

I've said all along, his pass blocking ability is what makes him most valuable. If you told me point blank, it's Murray or a RB out of the draft, I'd go Murray just on his proven ability to keep Romo from getting killed.

For me it's the fumbles. They were all so costly.

Also, don't trust his ability to stay healthy. Or that he'd ever be able to repeat anything close to what he did.

Basically I don't want to pay a back big money unless he's an elite guy. A sanders or enmitt or AP type. I don't see Demarco as that guy

Besides I also think our oline would make a lot of backs shine.

I would love to have Demarco back on this team but as previously mentioned In a league where there are a plethora of quality backs that could be successful behind this offensive line. The running back position cannot take that much of a chunk of your salary cap. Especially with an aging QB that may literally be crippled on the field this year or the next.
We are possibly a few peices on the defensive front from being contenders. Is much rather pay them than Murray

Eagles, Jaguars, Raiders eyeing DeMarco Murray
Mar
10

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray is receiving interest from the Philadelphia Eagles and remains "intrigued" by the concept of playing for coach Chip Kelly., Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports via Marc Sessler of NFL.com.

Rapoport noted that the Jaguars "have long been working" on Murray, while the Raiders are "making a run" despite the presence of promising third-year runner Latavius Murray. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the Cowboys are "waiting if anyone shows real interest before they decide to pop in and make a final push."

Gore ends drama, signs on with Colts

Frank Gore has signed with the Indianapolis Colts, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The deal is expected to be similar to the three-year, $12 million offer that the former 49ers running back received Sunday from the Eagles, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Gore's contract with Indianapolis also includes $8.5 million in guaranteed money, the source said.

The Colts also will host free-agent receiver Andre Johnson, who was released Monday by the Houston Texans, on Tuesday night, a source told Schefter.

Eagles reached agreement with former Giants and Seahawks CB Walter Thurmond, per source. Thurmond now teams up again with Byron Maxwell.

Heard the Eagles are likely to sign Ryan Matthews today. Oakland signed Helu, not necessarily a #1 RB, but they spent some money there (2 for $4m).

I get the feeling Murray would rather have $6m / yr from us than $8m / yr from Jacksonville or Oakland. If we get him at a 5 for $30m or 4 for $24m, then that's not "elite money" and can allow us to still fix other issues.

Report: Raiders still pursuing a deal for DeMarco Murray

Posted by Darin Gantt on March 11, 2015, 11:51 AM EDT

AP
The Raiders signed a running back already.

But they may still be in the market for a better one.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, the Raiders are “still pursuing” Cowboys free agent DeMarco Murray, despite the addition of Roy Helu.

It’s possible the market for Murray is more robust than we’re hearing at the moment, but it clearly isn’t what the league’s leading rusher was hoping for.

While there were reports of “mutual interest” between the Eagles and Murray, Chip Kelly has brought Ryan Mathews in for a visit today and could sign him.

What that leaves for Murray is unclear at the moment, but the Raiders clearly have money to burn.

Jerry: "Hmm. The market is soft and I have all the leverage. What the hell, DeMarco, here's $25 million for three years."
