From @LT_21: My sources tell me there's a very strong chance of DeMarco Murray joining the @Eagles.

Lookout, bringing in a fucking fullback.

Maybe we can bring in a long snapper next.

Do you really need to meet a fullback? They're all the same. Just a really slower/fat version of a running back that is sometimes white.

Again.... There is this credit that is being given to Jones Braintrust that they are patiently and wisely not making moves "like last year" but this is one of those times where urgency gets the good players and patience gets the fullbacks. There is no plan here. There is no strategy. This is going to be like the Quincy Carter draft. Wait too long and then waste options on the wrong player.

@AdamSchefter: Eagles HC Chip Kelly said his team was offered a first-round pick this morning for his QB Sam Bradford.

didn't know Chip Kelly had a drinking problem...hopefully he gets the help he needs

Sounds like DeMarco's camp believes nothing has a chance of increasing the Cowboys offer to him greater than threat of him signing w/Eagles

Good point Bill...

Saw some tweets that said we offered Murray 5mils per yr.

Your right, shit we should copy the Redskins annual plan of signing everybody for big money. They've accomplished so much over the years winning the free agency Super Bowl every March and April

Think that ship has sailed. The Eagles just signed Ryan Matthews.

that's what one would think, but there are reports claiming otherwise

don't see why a team would trade what everyone considered a premier back for an injured LB because they don't want to pay said RB, then turn around and sign two other fairly high priced RB's to replace him (along with a 3rd back in Sproles)

I guess Ryan Matthews got hurt getting off the airplane, that's why Eagles now need Murray too

I know he likes it here, but I'd have to tell them to go fuck themselves.

Why? Teams do it all the time.

Almost all these NFL expert guys commenting on this are saying the Cowboys are playing this exactly the right way too.

They've apparently offered him what they consider to be a fair deal. If he doesn't like it he can leave- or he can do what they are saying, find out what the market thinks you are truly worth and if you still want to be here, come back to us with a last look. That's why free agency coveted by players, so they could go to the market and establish their true market value.

Financially it's the right thing, but as a player, when someone says how much they love you and and how valuable you are but then tells you, "Eh, go get your offers and maybe we'll match it -- we'll see" that would piss me off.

Which I'm sure it does most players, and that's why when they get to FA without an extension they usually leave.

Honestly it appears to me Murray has gotten really bad advice from his agent. He should fire whoever it is that reps him.

Peterson to Dallas for 4th round pick with guarantee of signing a new deal worth 7.5mil a year.

That's my guess.

It almost feels like Dallas is just waiting for Murray to sign elsewhere already. Then they make a move.

Thats my hope.

I'd prefer we keep him with a contract that doesn't mess up our cap.

That said, if he leaves they possibly open up some more cap dollars for defensive help.

I know Jerry must be sweating his ass off right now while Stephen whispers in his ear to stay the course while smoothing his father's hand.

The Cowboys have some balls though and right now it's all going according to plan. They've kind of called this one brilliantly. Just 3 or 5 years ago, Murray would have already had a new, big ass, long term guaranteed contract on the eve of FA. Probably even mid-season. Now Murray's stock is plummeting towards a cap-friendly deal for the Cowboys.

Kudos to whoever's decision this is.

It's a refreshing change, let's see if they can hold their nerves
