Does anyone think Murray gets even 300 carries, in a Chip Kelly offense?

After he gets the big deal and cashes out, does anyone think he is going to beast it like he did last year?

I am okay with him leaving. I have to believe that like Dez, Dallas made him a fair offer. But agents have a way of making dollar signs dance in their clients heads.

And hell, If some dumbshits wanted to sign me for millions to get me out of Dallas? Ya take the money.

Eagles have roughly $8 mil cap hit on Matthews and Sproles for 2015. If they were to sign Murray, they're probably looking at an $8 mil cap hit on him at least. They have $3.4 mil dead money for McCoy. That's almost a $20 mil cap hit on RBs alone... them signing Murray would be crazy -- even crazier than what they have already done.

That shit is crazy.. I wanna say that's why I don't think they'll do it but holy shit have they done some fucked up shit so far.

I'd prefer we keep him with a contract that doesn't mess up our cap.

That said, if he leaves they possibly open up some more cap dollars for defensive help.

I'm still with that.. If the $$ amount starts getting ridiculous then obiviously no but I still don't think it will. In other threads we mentioned 5yrs for 30 mil or 4 for 26mil. I think that's best case scenario for us.

I think right now, at this point through FA, you have to compare what's available to help the defense along with what RBs are available TO bringing back Murray and how our defense directly benefits from our running game. In my mind, Murray is the better use of cap dollars.

DeMarco Murray plans to sign with the Eagles
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 12, 2015, 9:08 AM EDT

If all goes as planned, DeMarco Murray will be an Eagle by the end of the day.

That’s the word from Adam Schefter of ESPN, who says that not only is Murray visiting Philadelphia today, but he is expecting to sign a contract with the Eagles.

The Cowboys and Murray have been in talks, and other teams including the Raiders and Jaguars have shown interest as well, but from all indications Murray wants to go to Philadelphia. He thinks he can win there, he thinks he’s a fit in the offense, and he’s close friends with Sam Bradford, the quarterback the Eagles just acquired in a trade with the Rams.

Murray is the reigning NFL rushing leader and Offensive Player of the Year, and he’s arguably the best free agent still available, two days into free agency. Adding him would give a major boost to Chip Kelly’s offense, and alleviate some concerns among Eagles fans that Kelly doesn’t have a plan in place.

Clearing cap space to acquire Murray certainly qualifies as a plan. Whether it’s a winning plan remains to be seen.

So now they're saying the key is that Mathews never actually signed a contract with them. So it wouldn't be both guys, just Murray.

So Garrett can still get his Norv tie.

That may be a bogus report I read on what Murray signed for, I can't confirm it

I dont recall ever seeing so much overt manipulation by a player to extract the most money for a contract, its turning off, you simply can't win in this current league by having lost of your cap tied up in a few players

Would you pay 4 years 48 million 25 million guaranteed? Thats what he got
I seriously doubt it's even close to that.

David Moore was speculating that Murray may just sign with Philly if they offer him what Dallas offered him, which is in the $5-6 mil per year range.

Moore and George though are tweeting that Murray's dad says no decision has been made. His feelings are hurt by the way this has gone down, but he still is undecided.

Schefter tweeted that the Cowboys know we lost Murray and are calling around for other backs now.
