So do we blame Garrett or Ciskowski for teh trade doWn, guiz?!

nothing to be blamed for until we see what they do today, if they hit homeruns today then its fine.

if jerry flips the two for two 4's then Jerry and steve have gone and screwed up again.

I guess I'm the only one ok w the trade down. If you desperately want to move down, you're not getting equal value. At least we came really close. Not like we got gassed. I really like it

That's assuming JJ and Stephen have a lick of say in that war room.

Newsflash, amigo: they have as large a say as the hole that's left when you take your hand out of a bucket of water

You dont like the player at all?
I think I voted for him in the second when cmd was doing his mock. So I like some things about him... I like that he won't be walked back in Romo's lap and he should be good against big 34 NTs. He just doesn't move very well. I'm wary of guys with really bad athletic ability in the first round.

The main thing is that I feel like we targeted a position and in the long run that will come back to bite you. You should take the best, most talented player at your pick and I seriously doubt Freddy is that guy.

Now maybe we'll get away with it like when Jimmy drafted Kevin Smith... But then Kevin Smith was a top athlete for his position and if I'm going to reach for need I'd rather do it on a high upside guy like that. I am encouraged that this seemed to be a Callahan pick and has had some really good centers including Mangold and Barrett Robbins.

We haven't had a good center in a looooong time. Gurode was OK, but had the IQ of a box of cereal.

What is it about Callahan that makes you assume he has any idea about personnel? He's not even that great of a coach.

The more I think about last night, the better I feel about it.

It appears that the Cowboys did not get full value for moving back and also did not get full value for the 31st pick (due to picking the Center perhaps a half round early), but that isn't the end of the world. There is something to be said for filling an obvious need with a high quality prospect and picking up an extra draft choice.

Although it is the team's fault that they have dire OL needs, it isn't the team's faulty that there was a big run on OL last night.

What happens this evening is key.

If we can get another solid offensive linemen or key contributor with the 3rd rounder we picked up then it will have been worth it.

I remember we moved down 2 spots the year we took Roy Williams and picked up a 3rd rounder, which we used to draft Derek Ross, who was a WKG.

This year we moved down 13 spots and got a 3rd rounder. I hate the value we got, but I like the pick.

Smart kid (computer engineering), but slower than molasses. That will be a problem if he plays guard instead of center, where he'd be expected to pull on sweeps. In all likelihood, had we taken a safety at #31, Frederick still would have been available to us in Rd 2. For some reason, we just had to have him in Rd 1.

@ShanePHallam 28m Travis Frederick was my #1 center, can play guard, he explodes off the snap. Huge part of Montee Ball's success, will help Dallas

I think he would have been there too. But, if he's the #1 Center on some teams boards, which appears to be the case, he might not have..10-15 pick reach is A fair way to call it.

Thanks for the links last night Theebs. I actually turned the TV off a few minutes in and just listened online while posting.

Switched from Norm to 105.3 though. Norm and his group came off as really clueless and out of touch. I expected they would have more insight as to what we were doing or planning, but it seems like they were along for the ride like us.

Yeah, I listened to the Fan last night with some ESPN Dallas thrown in. Norm's heart is in the right place, but he just drives me crazy with the way he gets so excited and his crazy tangents.

I wish there was some screencaps or some video of the more tense moments in the War Room. I keep reading about Jason Garretts head wipe when we traded. I'm curious to see if it was blown up or legit. Also, TC & SJ getting heated moment.

yeah floyd clearly fell for a reason, I can understand that. Lots of players have done that throughout the years.

I am just saying, the giants have a good front office and they wasted no time turning the pick of pugh in...We need a tackle also...just wondering where the difference lies

Giants GM Jerry Reese on Justin Pugh: "He was the highest guy on our board. You guys think I’m joking when I say that, but it’s absolutely true."

Well there u have it.

norm said we wanted Pugh to fall and him going to ny was a blow.

Also said Floyd was 7th ranked player on our board..

All this stuff means nothing till we see them play. Reese said Sean lee wasn't any good 3 years ago so who knows

well, he's been more right than wrong, and has two rings to show for it.

Not sure, I guess they thought he could fall to 31.

Ernie acorsi had more to do with the first ring, Reese the second, but across built the first one, think Reese only ran one draft before the 07 sb
