Feh. McNair was not a great QB, flatout. I guess the question is would you take Garrett over Fisher?

yea right now, there is no point in throwing a retread out. We all get frustrated but it will get better. All this crap will improve. I would love to see some more veteran coaches around him also.. Tony Sporano is such a perfect fit here that it probably will never happen.

But guys like sporano, bowles, mike nolan and kacey rodgers are no nonsense veteran coaches. I love the thought of them here.

I don't see Fisher as a retread at all...the guy had one job. Not like he has been recycled multiple times like a Norv Turner.

I do feel better though about the whole situation...I mean if you say it will get better then I am sold. Thanks.

you know what I meant. Garrett has no choice but to improve and I think he will. I think we are going to finish strong. Beating the giants is usually a huge emotional lift to this team. If we beat them I think we are in for a nice month or more long run....we are not beating gb or the saints but No shame in getting to those teams and taking a shot.

if we lose to the giants though the coaching stuff is going to pick up.

I just think He is a good coach, there has been no drama this year at all, everything is kept in house, our free agents were outstanding and the draft was good. We are 7-5 and have had 3 really difficult to deal with losses.

I think another full offseason and some more veteran coaches will improve the whole thing. The guy has been in charge for about a year....you have to give even the worst coaches a handful of years to find there way.

The stage is too big for him. He folded under the pressure on Sunday...against the Cards...this was not a road playoff game or something like that, but a road game against the Cards. He coached scared and inept and did his team a disservice. I did also like how he said Romo could have called a TO after the Bryant catch, I guess there is enough room under the bus for both of them.

Well Romo cost us two games, so I guess Garrett had to get his two in. Considering that the defens elost one game for us (Eagles), we can expect another loss but this time by the defense.

Couldn't have said it any better. He lacks the killer instinct like a Belicek, who will try and go for a 2-pt conversion if his team is up 50-0 with a minute left in the game. You would think after the debacle against the Lions, that he wouldn't be calling off the dogs like he does. You would think that some of Jimmy Johnson wopuld rub off on him.

Whatta combo.

A GM and a Head Coach that wouldn't hold those titles for any other NFL team if available.

Fisher is an upgrade no matter how you cut it. Our offensive statistics are mediocre (3rd down conversions) to horrible (redzone efficiency) this season, and the playcalling/game management is just abysmal. There's no way you're downgrading in either of those categories by bringing in a competent coach like Fisher.

For some reason Jerry is not only obsessed about trying to win with him in charge, but also with trying to win without a proven quality HC. Parcells is the only decent HC he's hired since Jimmy and we all know that's only because he got desperate after all the 5-11 years and need to drum up support for the new stadium.

The only thing that makes sense is he's afraid a real HC would get the credit if we win, ala Jimmy. Like I've said billions of times, Jerry would rather be in control and lose than to win and have someone else get the credit.

Jerry pretty much admits all of this in that drunken youtube video where he bashes Parcells. That was by far the best coaching staff we've had here since Jimmy bolted, and it's amazing how quickly the team progressed and became a perennial playoff contender again. Why the hell are we wasting all that progress on this ginger clown now.

The only solace is that it's much more costly to fill that new stadium, and he can't afford the fan backlash anymore. People are pissed right now too. I have faith that we'll get Fisher.

We first wasted it with fat Phillips and now Garrett's on the job training. Of course Jerry's good at wasting teams going back to how he about single-handedly brought down the dynasty.

I still think Garrett gets at least as much time as Son of Bum.

Considering 2 or 3 other teams have offered Garrett HC jobs, I'd say you're wrong on half of it.

The GM part is true, but Jones isnt a real GM anyway and isnt making all the decisions a normal GM would. He just says he does.

That was in 2007, coming off a 13-3 season. He barely got an inquiry for one interview after the '08 season and was not offered the job. Nobody wanted to touch him with a 10 foot pole after that. Except for Jerry of course...

What is considered a proven quality HC? Mike Tomlin, Mike McCarthy, Sean Payton... were those guys proven quality HCs before they got their current jobs?

Those guys all have proven the job is not too big for them. McCarthy and Payton were longtime OCs...and while Tomlin really wasn't, he knew enough to get out of LeBeau's way and let him run the defense...which is what Garrett should do on the offensive side.
