and the fact they keep lying in order to do it. i'd be all for a panel of experts to come together and create a plan to educate users before they can own guns and before going to class, a criminal background check done on you. a day in the classroom, 1/2 a day on the range, and you're certified to own any type of gun you wish - aside from fully auto.

but creating laws that ban "military style" can be anything from bolt action (as snipers love bolt action rifles) to those that look all nasty but are no more dangerous than any other semi-automatic gun. why so vague in the laws? oh, so you can interpret them any way you wish when the law is passed.

there's a 150 round mag for an AR-15 but can you imagine now heavy that would be fully loaded up?

Hemi... the thinkg is, they already require all of this in order for you to even purchase these types of guns. Texas is one of the most lax states as far as gun ownership. And even there you can not carry out an AR-15 or ANYTHING classed as an assualt rifle without a mandatory week wait on the background check at minimum. All these guns are serial numbered and tracked. And anything classed as an assualt or sniper rifle in most states requires ID and a permit to even buy ammo. the point is, the government doesnt fear attack from outside. the last thing they want is a bunch of citizens totally fed up with the way things are going taking matters into their own hands. Which is a big part of the reason they track any malitia group like they owe money. they use the excuse of gun violence as a reason to take guns from law abiding citizens. But in reality only about 30% at max of the violent crimes committed with guns are committed by the registered owner of the gun in question. And of the other 70%, a good portion are done when the registered owner has no idea where said named gun is if e or she even still owns it.

I think if laws were passed they would marginally help gun violence but mostly it's just going to end up costing the average gun owner more in taxes. I'm ok with this though. Just like cigerettes, I have no interest in guns and the more they tax you, the less they are going to tax me.
