That's pretty much what we thought in Vietnam. In fact, we dropped more tonnage on Vietnam than we did during the entire second World War.

in someone else's country

If the government comes for us the only thing that will save anyone is a lack of willingness by the military to do what they're told. Your guns can fuck off.

Actually, militaries are even more hampered in their own countries because there's greater concern about damaging infrastructure and they don't want to turn even more of their own citizens against them.

The British ran into the latter problem repeatedly during the Revolutionary War, especially in the Southern theater.

It's already being used, but yeah go ahead.

I'm going to need you to stop speaking out against our government. And if you fail to stop, we will be sending armed police to your house to search for anything they deem necessary to arrest you and hold you without cause. When we deem it necessary to give you your trial, you will have one judge appointed by us. No lawyers, no witnesses.

I don't care if your right to avoid this is in the constitution.

Check the gun laws of some of the countries ranked above us, especially Mexico. That should be a fun game.

Other important facts:

• The US has the highest gun ownership rate in the world - an average of 88 per 100 people. That puts it first in the world for gun ownership - and even the number two country, Yemen, has significantly fewer - 54.8 per 100 people
• But the US does not have the worst firearm murder rate - that prize belongs to Honduras, El Salvador and Jamaica. In fact, the US is number 28, with a rate of 2.97 per 100,000 people
• Puerto Rico tops the world's table for firearms murders as a percentage of all homicides - 94.8%. It's followed by Sierra Leone in Africa and Saint Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean

I wouldn't view this as a positive

You are comparing the US to a bunch of shitty countries. The Cleveland Browns could beat Alabama, that doesn't make them a good NFL team. If you look at the wiki list I posted you are 3.2 per 100,000. All the other developed countries are below 1.
