Gina miller just said Jerry wants to renegotiate gurodes contract tomorrow for salary cap reasons....

Don't think that is anything new, but just passing it along

Hopefully Gurode reads what you guys are writing about him, and refuses so that Jerry has no other recourse than to cut him.

I bet he restructures to stay, and maybe he ends up starting at LG vs the Jets

We're starting 3 rookies on the OL tonight, and Romo has got sacked once andf maybe hit one other time on 20+ attempts. They seems to be doing pretty darn good. Maybe the depth isnt as bad as people believe.

I saw another late hit on Romo that went uncalled.

Me too....WTF does Romo say to those sorry fucks that makes them refuse to make an obvious call ?!?!?

Jerry is an idiot for not questioning Goodell and the league. This is so ridiculous lol you can play a shot tossing game to it ....

Everytime Romo gets hit late without a flag....Take a shot and take a chance on alcohol poisoning

That generally means guaranteeing currently salary so that it can be prorated in the future. No idea why they'd want to do that now. No way he negotiates a lower contract. That is NEVER done.

I went back and re-watched Kowalski. I gotta admit I didn't know who the hell he was before this game. He did pretty well. Had a nice pancake on a big Felix run. He got pushed back a couple times, but he never really looked lost and was always locked onto his guy. Very impressed. If he's part of the equation of cutting/trading Gurode, then it makes A LITTLE more sense now.

By the way, cutting/trading Gurode saves Jerry $5.5 million of actual money that would be paid to Gurode. I'm not talking cap room, I mean actual money that has to be paid out.

Costa makes just over $400k.

Cutting Gurode this late in camp, without some sort of behavior or legal problems, is just stupid.

These are the decisions that well run franchises make. If Gurode isnt going to start (and it doesnt appear he is) then paying a backup 5.5mils is whats stupid.

If they did a poll of 32 NFL GM's on if they would rather have Gurode or Costa as ther starting Center right now, 31 GM's would pick Gurode.

If they did a poll of 32 NFL starting QB's on the same question, 32 would pick Gurode.

The offense was our strong point going into this season but now the line is going to hurt us. Romo has a quick release, it's going to need to be quicker.

Not for nothing, cmd... but you have to agree that our offensive line has been under-performing for years.

They haven't pass blocked well, nor have they run blocked worth a crap.

It is time for an overhaul.

IMO an overhaul for a playoff caliber team would have involved signing free agents and spending another high pick on an OL (rather than a wounded 4-3 OLB). Starting practice squad players and 7th round pick rookies should not have been the plan.

We've had better luck finding talent later in the draft, and as undrafted players, than we have at the top of the draft lately.

Doesn't Jason Garrett get the benefit of the doubt? Or is the shine off already.

I'm guessing you are talking about UDFA's Tony Romo and Miles Austin and 7th rounder Jay Ratliff. None of whom started opening day their rookie years.

Ratliff played in 4, started 1 his rookie season. Started no games his second year and became a fulltime starter in his 3rd season.

Romo played in 0 games his rookie year and just 6 games his next year. He wasn't a starter until just under the halfway point of his 4th year.

Same deal with Austin, wasn't a starter until halfway through his 4th year.

Nothing wrong with developing undrafted or low round picks. They shouldn't be your starters going into their rookie season unless your team was devastated by injuries. This is a result of God awful planning and a belief in a certain GM's wanting to show he can find players no one else can and show that he is smarter than everyone. If Nagy came into camp and blew the doors off everyone and beat out an experienced veteran, I would back off. He didn't. Holland was pretty much out all of camp. He beat out a small school rookie and UDFA rookies.
