So our new starters over the last few years have been:

Elam for ball
Lee for brooking
Hatcher for Bowen

And next year probably a new DE
and finnegan for Newman Although dont count out scandrick he just needs some time w/ 'Rome!

My biggest fear is another off-season of "continuity". Jerry will sell us that Barry Church is ready to be a star, Anthony Spencer is really, really motivated now, and that random 6th round pick is a steal and can start on the offensive line.

Yeah I can see it. Jerry's the biggest liar I've ever seen in my life.

You can take all this money tied up in jags and get a monster like Mario.

What do you think will help us more against Eli in nj In December? Scandrick, spears, sensabaugh, Spencer or Mario Williams?

IRVING -- A source said the Dallas Cowboys have decided what to do with Anthony Spencer but won't make an official move until this afternoon, the deadline for NFL teams to designate a free agent as a franchise player. The Cowboys have been leaning toward putting the franchise tag on Spencer, guaranteeing him $8.8 million next season. With a thin market for linebackers, Spencer likely would receive a big contract from another team as a free agent. Plus, the Cowboys have no internal options to fill his role. The Cowboys have franchised two players in the past (Ken Hamlin and Flozell Adams), but worked out long-term deals in both cases.

If nothing else, and I do mean nothing..it's one less hole to fill in Free Agency. I guess we go after Nicks or Grubbs AND either Carr or Finnegan. Still trying to stay optimistic but every ounce of me is thinking Jerry is blowing smoke yet again.

Vet center, corner, ilb, safety, and backup offensive tackle and then the draft?

Well him and S Jones have both said there would be "several new faces" on defense, and particularly the secondary. I dont take that to mean "somebody already here"

HAlf the league used a tag. The NFL is doing a great job suffocating offseason interest

I would have been more interested if we didn't just use 75% of our available cap room on a mediocre player.

Yes dbair, I realize we can create more cap room.

Watch Spencer sign this offer immediately so that the $8.8M is guaranteed and no long-term deal can be discussed until March 2013.
