Still waiting for you to produce an example of a Spencer-like signing the Pats have made dbair

They signed that LB from the Ravens (name escapes me) and everyone creamed their pants over the deal, and he was terrible.

I'm sure there are some others.

So that's what you meant when you said that this was a move like New England makes? One where everyone creams their pants over a terrible player/

To be fair Thomas actually had a good few seasons before that signing in New England. He wasn't terrible. I wonder if he just cashed it in and said, "fuck it".

duh that's why he's not an example of what david was talking about when he claimed franchising Spencer is a New England type move.

I'm not a fan of Spencer's, but I understand why they tagged him. He's a guy I wish they could upgrade, but other than signing Mario Williams to a mega deal and switching to the 4-3, I dont know that there's anything that they can do thats DEFINITELY an upgrade.

The smart thing to do is keep him for another year and draft someone one to compete with him and take away some reps, and hope that guy can take over FT next year.

I'm referring to you posting that we could still cut Spencer before his tag comes into effect. Now you're slowling espousing the wisdom of said move.
