Take this for what it's worth but there were rumblings of a Cowboys BLESTO scout turning up for Baker's game against the program I work for to watch former highly regarded USC recruit Dillon Baxter, who did close to nothing.

What is a BLESTO scout?

Scouting network originally developed between a handful of NFL teams (not sure when but a while ago) to share hard data on players from obscure colleges. (NAIA, D2, D3) Off the top of my head I can name the Vikings, Jets, Steelers and Cowboys as members but there are more.

Monte Kiffin should be familiar with him.

He was a huge recruit for USC the Kiffin's first year. Supposedly talented kid but a HUMONGOUS headcase. He's not as fast as advertised and tries to juke people. His parents are the definition of Soccer Moms. I don't see him making it in the NFL especially if he isn't absolutely dominating at the NAIA level.

Exactly my thoughts. He has a decent burst and really good leg drive and some lateral quickness but in way that really stands out. We actually played an SMU bounceback last week by the name of Darryl Fields who was absolute monster. If I was a scout looking for a player that'll get me a raise I'd be paying attention to him.

Used to be Bears Lions Eagles Steelers(?)... Don't know after that.

Anyway, I'm not really a "first round guard" guy... Think you need to take more of an impact position most times. Ideal for us would be a DE or DT. But how about this guard from Baylor, Cyril Richardson? No problems with being borderline undersized like Decastro -- this guy is 335-340 and fit enough to play in that hurry-up spread.

Ed Reynolds, S, 6-2/206, Stanford

I was late on Reynolds, a lot of the draft sites were high on him coming into the season. I still think Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is the top 2014 Safety but Reynolds is a late 1st to 2nd round guy in the Harrison Smith mold. I'm sure it's the Stanford uniform influencing me but Reynolds seems like a more athletic John Lynch to me.

Bauman is from the football factory that is Hamilton High. Good player, doesn't strike me as remarkable (kind of like Joseph Randle).

If you don't want to watch the NFL match-up tonight check out UCLA/Utah.

Two of my favorite players are going tonight and theya re...gulp...Bruins.
Brett Hundley, QB 6-3/222 UCLA

I'm a Romo guy so I'm not ready to spend a high draft pick to replace him but if we had to, I'd take Hundley. Very calm and smooth, he keeps his team in games. He's not the athlete that RG3 or Kaepernick is, but he's athletic enough to make teams pay. NFL caliber arm and makes good decisions. Played at the same high school as recent draft picks Cameron Jordan, Dion Jordan, and Markus Wheaton.

Anthony Barr, OLB 6-4/245 UCLA

The first game of my son's senior year Anthony Barr ran all over us, racking up 200 yards and 3 TD's. USC wanted him bad but insisted he played defense. He went to UCLA to play offense. After 2 years of wasting away as a H-Back, Jim Mora Jr came in and told him he's playing the other side of the ball. He's been dominant ever since. Ideal size and skill for a 3-4 OLB he can play a Von Miller-like role in a 4-3 as well. I'm guessing he's a top 15 pick.

One last payer from tonight's game...
Thretton Palamo, DE/LB 6-2/255 Utah

dt.common.streams.StreamServer.cls

He was the youngest rugby player to play in the World Cup and was supposed to be the future of that sport. Instead, he wanted to play football. He tried to play RB but eventually settled in at DE. He's still raw but I like him as a late round or more likely UDFA who can play special teams and provide some depth on defense.
