Jerry Jones disappointed but not angry: "you want me to lay down here on the floor and kick and scream"

No, we want you to lay down on the floor and not get up!

It was a subdued and seemingly charitable owner Jerry Jones in the Cowboys post-game locker room after the 17-16 loss to the Chiefs.

The Cowboys dropped to 1-1 on the season and seemingly back to the win-one, lose-win mode of the past years. The Cowboys are coming off back to back 8-8 seasons and are now 205-205 since 2000.

It was an angry Jones who ushered in an uncomfortable offseason of changes to ensure a different outcome in 2013. Yet on Sunday he was all about giving the Chiefs and their new coach Andy Reid credit. Reid, the former Eagles coach, has Jones ultimate respect.

"Well do you want me to lay down here on the floor and kick and scream and what have you," Jones answered rhetorically to a question about his demeanor. "I’m very disappointed. This is the start of our season and we had hoped to come up here and get a win. We knew that they’re a good team, but what we really know is how good Andy Reid is against the Cowboys, and so he does know our team. He’s coached against Jason quite a bit, so I give him all the credit that he should have here. He’s an outstanding coach and Kansas City is lucky to have him and Andy is lucky to have this great fan base here in Kansas City as well. It’s a great place to play football for the home team."

Did you see the vid of him on the team website... He mentioned Andy Reid getting the most out of his team about 10 times. Meanwhile zero praise for his own coach except for a brief mention that the defense was pretty decent. Interesting.

We have such terrible coaching in Dallas.

I mean, we have a lot of talent and we can't win for shit. This team is such a collosal failure.

You can't be proud to be a Cowboys fan anymore. The shine is off hte star. We're the Cardinals/Bengals/Lions/etc.

We're better than the Jaguars and Bills.... but thats about it.

We've turned into the laughing stock of the league. It's embarassing to be a Cowboys fan now.

I would make the change for Gruden this afternoon if I were JJ.

Most of us want JG gone but it's too early for Jerry to panic. Give it until mid season. Gruden will finish out the season at ESPN anyways.

And if we can't get Gruden then we need to make a run at Nick Saban. The only problem with Saban is he's a 3-4 guy. Jerry might cringe at the idea.

I'm not one of those "no good coach would want this job" guys, but there's no way a super control freak like Saban comes here.

I doubt he goes back to any pro job unless he just gets bored and for some reason thinks he wants to right the wrong that was Miami.

Saban failed in Miami. He's got a great job in Alabama and you can tell he likes it. No way he leaves, and no way in hell he comes to this coaching shithole.

Players need to fear the coach, not the GM. Gruden would be my pick, but unless JJ finally grows up and realizes he does not need to be the center of attention nothing will change. Having closely watch the Chiefs transformation I understand how a turnaround can be accomplished quickly, but first JJ needs to admit there is an issue and I am not sure he is capable of that.

I'm anti-Jerry Jones to so I can relate to what your saying.
