The first responders stated they came up on the scene when Brent was pulling Brown out of the car and that he was unresponsive when they checked on him. If that is the case then Brown was dead and had died while being pulled out of the car assuming the woman's comments about Brown making noise are correct.

if that is the case then not all people's response to seeing dead loved ones is to cuddle. It also speaks to the wisdom in waiting to yank him out of the car.
Unresponsive doesn't necessarily mean dead. Just saying, carry on

well after reading all of this thread. I must admit.

Fuzzy's debate has convinced me!

Brent shouldn't wear the star.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Fuzzy.

Hey little lump. Not hurt at all. I don't believe the Cowboys need a moron that kills people on the team. The stupid bitches at the zone are fucking hypocrites. You fit in well there.

Simple question for you. Have you ever got behind the wheel over the limit?

That question was rightly ignored earlier because it is a non sequitur. None of us are NFL players.

It's a form of the appeal to mom fallacy - "Mom, the other kids do it toooooo."

It never works, even on Mom.

So it's OK for normal folks to DWI but not pro sport athletes?

I do think he fucked up but many of us drive drunk or at least have done so. I know I have way too often. I no longer do, if I have two beers over dinner I'm done. Granted I never killed anyone but that's just dumb luck on my part. I know many people who were convicted of driving under the influence and kept their jobs. By the way these people have jobs requiring top secret clearances. Now if they get popped a 2nd time their done.
A horrible mistake was made. Let's hope he and many others learned from it.

You're missing the whole him having a prior offense, him having killed a teammate, him not rendering sufficient aid on site. Etc.

I don't think he needs to be not given a chance to continue with his life. But I don't think any of us would get the breaks he is getting if we did kill someone. Nor would I be expecting any. So I don't understand how we should just go back to like all is good with him. Even when they tried to give the sports athlete an extra chance, he pissed that away (literally) I think if I killed someone from drinking, that would be a very sobering experience.
So I am cool if he gets his life together & does something with his life. I am not so cool with handing him a roster spot & 6+ figures. While some are trying to make him out to be a victim. if it happened to me I would still be sitting in jail. the guy has already been given way more breaks than I would have ever seen. (being a non sports athlete) So I don't need to feel bad for him in the least.

Because you know, for me, the whole killing a man and his conduct at the crash site is my biggest issue. He was indifferent towards a dying man. His teammate and one of his better friends. Just paced around saying "He wont get out."

Waited until Jerry was screaming for his life in a burning vehicle before pulling him out and then leaving him alone on the road to die like an animal.

That, to me, is the disturbing part and why I think the guy is an absolute scumbag.

He's had three. The one where he killed a guy, happened the night before a fucking road game. You really want players out closing down bars and drinking until 2am, the night before a game?

You really want this fuck to be taking a roster spot of some young kid who never killed anyone?

How many chances does he get after he killed a teammate? Just one more? So then if he kills another one that's somehow worse?

I'm not dead set for him and if the team never brought him back I wouldn't complain. I just feel that if you are not incarcerated you should be allowed to work if someone is willing to hire you. If a guy serves ten years, gets out and can't get a job he most likely goes right back in.

Nobody's arguing against that at all.

But it doesn't HAVE to be the Dallas Cowboys, or the NFL either for that matter.

So, when Dallas takes him back then he does this again, is that somehow worse?

Could that be called enabling?

The defense of Brent is irrational. I truly think we can do better than an alcoholic murderer. I remember many of these same people getting all self righteous when other players killed people. Now that it is "their guy" they sing a completely different tune.

Oh yea...fuck the Zone. Bunch of phony mother fuckers.

So, because legally it's manslaughter, he's technically not a murderer and therefore its okay he gets to return to the team?

How about this? I don't want any player on this team, whose actions led to the death of another player from the team. Accidental, intentional, reckless, or otherwise.

Ok CMD I can understand that and respect your point of view. On the otherhand Jerry owns the Team and has chosen to take Brent Back. Does not mean its the right decision or the wrong one. But it is the decision that we must learn to live with along with many other decisions over the years that Jerry has made.
