There were at least 11 better than Felix in that category. They all scored more than one TD for their team also.

Felix doesn't want to carry the ball in goal line situations. If he did, don't you think we'd hear about his frustrations about not getting the ball in those key situations?

I like him as a change of pace back, but not as my full time starter. No way. I need my RB to have a nose for the endzone and he needs to be in the game in key situations. If he's not, something is wrong there.

The thing I don't understand is, why do the coaches not let him take those carriers? He's an inch shorter than Barber and he's two pounds heavier. So it's not a size issue.

There were not 11 better.. im calling BS. Show us..

Also, saying just because he didn't whine to the media about not getting the ball near the goalline means he doesn't want the ball down there is just nonsense.

My guess is the coaches just considered Barber the short yardage back, and that was that. Clearly, the amount of times he and Choice got stuffed in short yardage situations though, Felix could have done better. Not many could have done worse. To do what Felix did behind this line was pretty darn good.

Your criteria was 200 touches and average more than Felix? Let me know before I do the work.

The criteria is running backs that had near or more carries than Felix and averaged 4.3 YPC or better AND ALSO averaged over 5 yards per touch, with more than 200 total touches combined.

I use this to include both rushing and receiving to get the total contribution that the RB's were making for their teams.

If you want to make it easier.. how many backs averaged over 5 yards per touch? Felix was one.. i don't believe there were many others.

LeSean McCoy, Darren McFadden, LaGarrette Blount, Jamaal Charles, Arian Foster, Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte

I made his point, if you need more names look them up yourself.

I didn't combine rec yards when I looked earlier. All the names Cythim mentioned are correct when you strictly look at rushing, rec yards, I don't know.

The other names are Ahmad Bradshaw, Benjarvis Green-Ellis, Mo Jones-Drew and Chris Johnson was tied with felix at 4.3.

So there were nearly 11 players ahead of Felix in that aspect. The rec yards, I don't know without looking.

Edit: The above players carried the ball at least 200 times, that's what I thought you meant by touches.

Yup, looks to me like Felix is in elite company there.

lol

I can't say that by looking at his numbers. You win when you score more points than the other team. Felix helped his team score once last year.

Edit: He scored twice total with the rec TD.

Green Ellis and Bradshaw didn't average 5 ypt.. but all the rest of the names are correct.

Looking at them, you see why Felix is in elite company, especially considering the line he ran behind.

Don't get me wrong, he's a weapon. Just not my every down back.

That's alright.. because he's the back that will get the majority of touches for the Cowboys again this year. Hopefully behind a better OL we can really let him loose this season. He's got major ability.

Not really, the big names on the list are doing it with more carries. Felix gets 14.5 touches a game while most of the others are getting 18 to 20+

I can't control the coaches.. i can only evaluate what i see when he gets the ball. Of guys who had over 200 touches last season at the position (which was maybe 20 or so) he was right up there with the best RB's in the league in terms of production.

Give him those 4 more touches a game behind a decent line and see what happens. We spent a first round pick on him, no reason not to let him loose now.

You're probably right. Even if there's a better back on the team, Felix will get the bulk of the carries.

How long did it take for Barber to take the role from Julius? How long did it take for Felix to take the role from Barber? At least a full season if not more in both cases when the two backs were clearly better at the time than who was in front of them.

That is how things are done in Dallas.

I don't know if Murray is better than Felix, but I'm all for finding out as soon as possible.

Not really. If you asked for a ranking on those numbers Felix would be near the bottom of the list.

And im all for finding out just how much our 24 year old 1st round pick who put up those very solid numbers behind a horrid run blocking OL can do for us. You guys act like Felix is washed up when he isn't even hitting his prime yet. Unreal.

We just went over this.. guys who averaged over 5 yards per touch with over 200 touches were Chris Johnson, MJD, AP, Foster, Forte, Charles, Felix, McCoy, and Blount.. aka the best backs in the league last year.

If you don't think this is elite company you clearly arn't being objective.

Your cherry picking stats is futile. You are playing fantasy football and assuming it has some sort of impact on game day.

Cherry picking stats?! lol

Yes, because the amount of yardage a running back gains everytime he touches the ball is clearly of little to no importance at all.

Wow..
