Found this gem within the letter Goodell sent to the players after talks collapsed last week...

"A salary cap for 2011 that would avoid a negative financial impact on veteran players. We offered to meet the Union at the mid-point between our previous offer and the Union's demand. Under our offer, 2011 salary and benefits would have been set at $141 million per club, and projected cash spending would have been set at high or higher than in either 2009 or 2010. By 2014, salary and benefits would have been set at $161 million per club. In other words, player compensation would increase by as much as $20 million per club by 2014."

The Cowboy's payroll is at $137.

Erasing Barber and Columbo would probably add a another $5 mill in cap space, which would be enough room to sign a free safety and probably a guard.

One of the worst teams since 1994, eh? Let's say since 1995 with the addition of the Panthers and Jaguars:

134 wins -- 122 losses.

Yeah, I think there are at least 14-16 teams that have done worse in that span.

Average. You suck.

I'm talking about real success. Like winning playoff games.

One of the worst in the league since 1995.

Doesn't matter.

You melvins don't get it. It doesn't matter what the new cap number is. All that matters is the Cowboys have considerably more salary on their payroll than every other team in the league. So whether the Cowboys have 5, 10 or 20 million to spend, every other team has more.

A knife to a gun fight.

How can teams that are perennially worse have better "real success"?

Win playoff games.

Check the playoff record of all 32 teams from 1996 to the present. The Cowboys have to be at the bottom of the league, as the losers they've been.

The Cincinnati Bengals probably have been better in that time period.

They've been to the playoffs twice in that timeframe, both coming in the past 5 years, and have 0 playoff wins.

I don't have to look anything up. I know it's true. And certainly don't need to convince a complete waste of space such as yourself.

Right. Just like you knew we've been one of the worst teams in 16 years before you changed your criteria.

I'm tired of catching you in lies.

You're catching me in nothing.

It's a known fact the NFC has had 10 different Super Bowl representives in the last 10 years. So that alone should tell even a pea brain like you that the Cowboys have been one of the worst NFC teams.

No. It isn't just NFC teams. I'm pointing out a fact everyone is aware of. That would at least put us at the bottom of the NFC. Then add in most of the AFC and you get my correct statement. We've been a bottom of the league team since 1996.
