PFF once ranked Ken Hamlin as a top 5 safety in '08 or '09.
That was Theo.
Nobody else has ever thought much of Hamlin.

I'm not sayin he's great. Hes Ok and more importantly, he's cheap.
Think about this - you were also complaining about Scandricks deal, he just happens to be our 2nd best corner..but think about this
If we lost Sensy, Elam, Scandrick, and Spencer this offseason, oh and Newman...how the hell do you think this team would fill all those holes in 1 offseason? They can't. Signed Scandy and Sensy cheap and TNew is definitely a goner. Let's see what happens with Spencer.. 2-3 holes on D are much easier to fill than 4-5..we haven't even talked about the holes on the oline yet..sheesh. That's a lot of work man
That...is....awful.
Wow, every time I think Jerry's Level of Stupid has maxed out he goes and shoots way past it.
5-year deal? for Sensabaugh? Gerald Sensabaugh? Really? Really!
Well I'm glad the Maryland inner city guy likes this deal :thumbsup
He got only 8 million guaranteed and probably minimum or clsoe to minimum salaries for the first couple seasons. He's a decent starter, clearly not elite but he isnt the problem back there. Wish he'd make more plays, but keeping either him or Elam was probably necessary and of the two, Sensabaugh is clearly the better player IMO.
How about keeping neither?
Why do we reward stop gap players with long term contracts?
Seriously. So when Elam leaves, and Sensy becomes the man back there who has to think, where he's clearly shown in the past that he can't. We can't get rid of him and JG will continue to start him.

Yes, we can get rid of his ass. 8 million over 5 years ain't shit.

Sensabaugh is awful in deep coverage. He has zero or bad instincts. He does well coming forward but any time he back pedals he is a weak spot. He has been in the NFL 7 years and a fulltime starter for 3 and he still makes bad decisions, taking flase steps and God awful angles.
This is a mistake.
Keeping Sensabaugh beyond this year is a mistake. This whole secondary is awful.
Explain to me how you can get a brand new secondary and fill 1-2 holes on the oline in one offseason, to justify not signing Sensy and Scandrick. And being better next year.
Good luck
