How dumb are you? You keep bringing up Bum Bright as if he would still be the owner without Jerry. Bright was forced into selling, I just wish he had someone besides jerry to sell to.

So would you rather take the unknown over the the 3 Superbowl wins?

Yes, I would rather take the unknown. I believe this franchise would have had a better last two decades without Jerry and his three Super Bowls.

Shut the fuck up dbair, you are shortsighted and unable to think for yourself. You prove this in politics and your lame attempts to discuss the day after the game. From '66 to '85 we didn't have a single losing season and played in 5 Super Bowls. We become diminished under Bright but a good owner would have been able to bring in the right GM and HC to go on a similar run that we had before Bright. I would rather have 20 years of being competitive and making the playoffs over 3 Super Bowls and 15 years of shit. I want to actually enjoy games every season instead of being pissed that we have the worst owner in the NFL.

I am only giving credit to Jerry for hiring Jimmy and having the foresight to let him have control and then sticking with him. nothing more.

I agree his ego has gotten out of control but it was his ego that allowed him to hire Jimmy in the 1st place and allowed him to have total control, so in this instance you have to take the good and the bad.

For some reason you think its terrible for giving the guy any credit whatsoever, you have your opinion and I have mine

I give Jerry the credit he deserves. He hired his college buddy and then ultimately ran him off, took over full control himself due to his ego and has proceeded to run the team into the ground for much of the last decade and a half. Congratulations Jerry, you did it your way.

Happy now?

Hard question to answer.

I really loved those three Super Bowls.... but did the enjoyment I felt during that four year stretch outweigh the perenial disappointment and agony I've felt since?

I'll say this... I like Jerry Jones attitude in that he loves his franchise, and he wants badly to win.

But I hate that his desire for credit and the spotlight undermines his efforts to win, and his failure to recognize that he's the dominant cause of our failures.

Seriously, you put his want to, and his willingness to spend... and you marry that with a quality structure where your team is led by respected football guys, and we'd be perennial contenders.

And not pre-season hype, Hard Knocks contenders.

We'd be year in and year out deep runs in the playoff contenders.

But his unwillingness to do that. His insistance of blowing smoke about how close we are. His belief that it's not the personnel. His belief that he's the GM, and his guidance gives the team the best shot, etc.... that all causes me to hate the guy.

I'm not sure if I'd trade 3 Super Bowls for the unknown.

I do know that as a fan today, I couldn't really give a shit what we did 20 years ago.

I don't turn my television off after another gutwrenching December collapse and think to myself, "Yeah, but that 1992 was special man!"

1. Trades for Williams and Galloway.....three 1s and a 3

2. Drafting Quincy Carter and insisting he was a franchise qb.

3. Not accepting the first round pick offered for marty b early in the season in 09. Many still don't believe this happened but is confirming it again. Said they could have used the pick on gronkowski in the 10 draft.

Also added tonight that the team did talk to and offer Tony sporano a job but he viewed it as too much of a step back.

How does hiring Campo, Phillips, Gailey, Switzer not make the list?

You and I feel the same about Jerry, I just can't get that worked up to all out hate the guy.

Am I disappointed, do I think he has held us back, all yes, but that does not stop me from appreciating that 90's run and his willingness to do it his way.

I give him all of the blame for that horrid period of the late 90's early 2000's but I blame these gutless players more for the failure to capitalize since 2007 I don't think he is nearly the meddler he used to be.

Now him going down to sideline this year was unacceptable and I think his infatuation with Garrett might prove to be fools gold in the long run he definitely tries to be to clever some times.

But anybody who would even think about taking the unknown over the 3 superbowls has to be kidding themselves.

You appreciate "his willingness to do it his way?"

I do because I am stubborn myself.

What I don't appreciate is the ego and having the need to be given all of the credit or the need to be front and center.

How may years of fucking up and ineptitude does a SB buy?

SBs are great but I don't sit around stroking myself over 1992, 1993 or 1995 because it's fucking 2011 with very little to indicate that any of those years will happen again.

Here's a nice little piece. Since that last SB, the fucking Jaguars have won more games than Dallas. Aside from the fact that their first season in the league was 1995, this is a team who can't even fill their seats because they are frequently so bad.

But hey, congrats Jerry. Your way worked at one point in time.

People say that the game passed Parcells by, what about Jerry? Maybe today's NFL is fit for Jerry anymore.

I can't even remember what winning feels like.

Fuck those 3 SB championships. Jerry took Jimmy's team and burried it. He's doing the same with what BP was attempting to build.

What was BP's quote?

"in a few years, you won't even know I was here."

How sad. Also very true. I imagine we'll suffer through 5-7 more years of mediocre football until we hit on another couple UDFA stars. Then watch out for these guys.

Like I said theother day. I dont know why some of you even bother to be a fan of the team.

If its that bad and aggravating then move on to someone else. Jerry isnt leaving anytime soon.

I get that all of you hate Jerry and think he sucks (and he has earned alot of the criticism) but many of you take it to the point where I think some of you are just shit fans. I think alot of you genuinely hope the team fails so you can bang on the owner, and would see that as more entertaining than the team actually playing well.

I hate it that we arnt winning bigger. Alot of years I curse Jones too. But it doesnt get in the way for my enthusiasm of the team itself. I'm a fan of the team, not the guy who owns it or runs it. Jones has alot of faults, but there's been some good things he's done too and he's a vast improvement over people like the Bidwells, Brown family, Modells or Bum Brights of the world.

Sometimes I wonder if you're Rich Dalrymple.

Facing the facts=shit fan.
Recognizing that Jerry is shitty=shit fan.
Noticing that the team is filled with bums=shit fan.

Go cowboyz!!!!!!we're numBer on. . .err. . .we're good enough!!!!!!!

this you are a shit fan thing is bogus.

And bum bright wasn't the gm, he was the owner, not a good one but he still had Tex and Brandt running the football operations. Many of the scouts were on board with Jimmy and Jerry and helped them build the dynasty from that era.
