If I gather correctly, superpunk is saying that we should thank Jerry Jones for the 3 Super Bowls, and that we should now dump him?

See thats the thing nobody is head patting anybody just giving the man credit for having the foresight and the balls to hire a college coach give him the keys to the car and then stay with him when the entire NFL was laughing their asses off at him.

giving him credit for that does not preclude me from also acknowledging his colossal fuckups since then, to right the hiring of Jimmy off as lucky is retarded.

The same stubborn Jerry that wanted to do it his way and hired Jimmy is the same guy we have now, you got to take the good and the bad.

Then I give Ronald Reagan credit for tearing down that wall.

I can't even remember what winning feels like.

Fuck those 3 SB championships. Jerry took Jimmy's team and burried it. He's doing the same with what BP was attempting to build.

What was BP's quote?

"in a few years, you won't even know I was here."

How sad. Also very true. I imagine we'll suffer through 5-7 more years of mediocre football until we hit on another couple UDFA stars. Then watch out for these guys.

It still looks a whole lot like Parcell's teams, great October and November and fold down the stretch.

What was so different about Parcell's teams?

What does that have to do with his quote about not even knowing he was here?

Was it so much different under Parcells?

Cuz he took 2 teams to SB's and another to an afcg before us. The fact he brought us to relevancy and got us a QB, hof LB, and maybe a hof TE in just a few years is a total blessing and an indictment on Jerry that only w/ us could he not make it work

I think he was talking more about the way the team would be handled.

It didn't take Jed but 2 seconds to let everyone know they could exhale. No more walking on egg shells. I think that was the biggest clue into what was coming.

And he's right, IMO. I whole heatedly believe this team is headed right back to Jerry's model of 5-11, rather than building on what we were headed for 4 years ago.

The transformation is almost complete.

To answer your question, the late season bullshit is a Dallas Cowboy thing, IMO. It's something that they do for some reason.

Bill Parcells coached teams are always historically slow starters and fast finishers. Never understood why that never happened when he coached in Dallas. But I do think the players/team expect to fail and believe they are losers.

We got some torch pasS guys in Tyron, lee, dez, and maybe Murray. We cut some of jerrys BFF overpaid cap cloggers. They're gonna burn off the books in a bit. Let's just see if ol Ginger Balls has a few tricks up his sleeve with 8 more picks and more cap room

I don't know if Jerry could find a new qb if he had to though

I give Jerry the credit he deserves. He hired his college buddy and then ultimately ran him off, took over full control himself due to his ego and has proceeded to run the team into the ground for much of the last decade and a half. Congratulations Jerry, you did it your way.

Happy now?

I've been meaning to ask you this, but are you the same VA Cowboy from the Zone?

The fact still remains these teams are remarkably similar and I don't know how you see 5-11 in the future when we just went 8-8 with a patched up o-line and secondary.

How do you see a transformation to 5-11 happening when we have added good young talent the past 2 drafts?

We have the same barely above average team that Parcells had when he was here there is no huge difference.

So why could he not make it work in Miami?

This Parcells worship just really needs to stop he did a OK job while in Dallas and there has not been some huge dropoff since he left its still the same choking mistake prone team that he built.
