Isn't science supposed to advance? There are thousands of things that man knows now that we couldn't comprehend a thousand years ago.

I didn't say things that we might be able to comprehend someday - like penicillin or etch a sketches - I said things that allegedly exist outside of our ability to comprehend.

The Big Bang and the Creation story have something in common. Nether can prove it and have to go on FAITH.

Really? So, because Stephen Hawking said it was true, we should all just say it's a fact that the big bang happened?

It has to be true because a guys who are fans of science came up with it. So whatever they say = truth.

DON'T YOU KNOW HOW THIS STUFF WORKS, IDIOT!?!

Stephen Hawking's got nothing to do with it.

For an item to be a decent theory you must be able to test it and attempt to falsify it. Only one of the things you mentioned fits that bill. The other is a fairy tale.

Objective reasoning is a better word. Christians try to turn the tables and attack and try to disprove the Big Bang Theory. Problem is, it still does not mean that there is a god.

I mean they call the particle that started it all the GOD PARTICLE. They are using the story of creation and taking God out of it as much as they can. But they can't. Because there is just no way anyone can keep going down the rabbit hole without finally coming to the point that there has to be a greater power. A being of such unfathomable and unquestionable power that we couldn't on our best moments in life understand it.

Science tries it's best to disprove God and it fails. It fails so miserably they have to start insulting anyone that will not believe as they do. We understand about 1/10000000000000000000000000 of how the universe works and where it all came from, but they are ready to just stand where they are on the belief that because they say so.... God doesn't exist.

Take all the world's religions and throw them out the door. Ignore them for just a moment. Let's say no one ever had the idea that there is a "God" or "Gods" and you tell me... Where did it start? If you say there is no such being that could have just always been, but in the same breath try and tell me that there were just all this shit that always just existed and it randomly did exactly what you said. How is that any different in there being a God?

I'm dumbfounded that all these minds would rather believe that shit just happened than someone or thing put it in motion.

And the shit about if God is all loving and loves us then why did he let all these bad things happen is a straw man. In a laboratory, scientists raise entire colonies of bacteria, chimps, only to destroy them to see how it works. Would that make you all feel better? To think of God in a lab coat and just wants things to work out the way he lets it?

You said “You're arguing from ignorance as well... Neither of us know.” Then in this post you claim to know.

That's not true. Where in this post did he say he knew?

That there is a God. How can you be confused about that?

You asked him what he believed. Nowhere in his response did he claim to know. He only answered the question you asked, of what he believes.

I'm not saying I believe this planet is 10k years old. But at the same time, if God is a scientist and all. Wouldn't he pre set anything he wished and use materials that were older to fill in places if he wanted to? Seriously, we are a lab experiment for God. Hell, God could and probably is like a 10 year old with a petridish. He's loving and kind and caring as long as there is excitement in his dish.

Christians try to turn the tables and attack

Now, this is funny.

Read back through this and other religious threads and take note of who the culprits are that like to attack. Infering stupidity or retardation. Calling names. Belittling beliefs, calling them fairy tales, fables, myths, etc..

The earliest religions worshipped the sun. All iterations thereafter are basically doing the same thing. You can see it in Christianity especially in their celebrations. I like to go to midnight mass for Christmas and it's astounding how many references you see to Jesus being a sun-god. Come lord Jesus, Light-bringer. Pretty cool.

Anyhow I think you asked a great question. It is interchangable. The only thing is leaving God out of the picture saves a step. If you want to suggest that God always existed, why not skip a step and say that the universe always existed? We don't have to invent any imaginary beings or creeds in that solution. We've just simplified the answer, and the simplest answer is almost always best.

Now you are just messing with semantics. Stephen Hawkings can't even leave god out, the center of his entire thing is the God Particle. Why would I ever listen to you're bullshit about there not being a God if Mr Hawking, your Lord and Master can't even leave him out himself?

Calling something a God Particle or declaring something a God Complex has nothing to do with whether or not God exists anymore than calling something an Oedipus Complex means that Oedipus existed. It's called language.

Where did I say anything about a God Complex? You are inserting things into my story that I didn't even say. The fact of the matter is when then Mr. Miagi of the scientific world can't leave the label of God out of the most important part of his support of the theory of the big bang - the whole thing falls down around you.
