I have a lot of questions about faith that I'll probably never get answered. I have a love/hate with church that will probably never be better. But one thing that keeps me on this side of believing is the people that I've seen do a 180 and completely give their life to their faith.
Even if it God and Jesus don't exist, it's not a bad life to strive for, IMO.
And it goes without saying, but I respect where SP,Iamtdg, and everxxx are coming from. They are free to live the way they see fit. It doesn't make them bad people at all.
There must have been some sort of divine intervention if you typed all that shit on a phone.
Then you must not have watched many plays involving our secondary last year.
HEYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
His presence? This is an intangible idea that cannot be proven. If that is your argument then there is no argument to be had.
And of course that is your personal view of the bible. There are alot of Christians who hold it in much higher esteem. You have to forgive us atheists we never know what personal brand of Christianity each Christian has subscribed to in order to appease themselves.
You must not be CatholicWut?
Ive never seen a person on toast.
Hey, I agree %100 that religion is full of sh1t, feel free to disprove it all you want. But dont puff out your chest and strut around acting like you have disproved the existence of god because you found some modern hippocrits or ancient contradictions in religion.Of course the trouble is that most Christians don't see it that way and the church definitely doesn't see itself that way for the most part.
If Christians just treated their faith like bikram yoga or some shit, kept it to themselves and didn't go around demanding that people who disagreed with the principles of bikram yoga don't deserve the same rights as everyone else because goddammit this country was founded on the principles of bikram yoga....noone would give a fuck.
Ok it gives some people purpose. So does crossfit, greenpeace and being an admin on Cowboys fan forums. Nothing supernatural to see in any of it. And all of those things have the added bonus of not being tools with which you can convince people to engage in extremism - which ends up being the form of religion that is untouched by secularism, liberalism and progressivism.
Unfortunately what we see from religion is not that they are the trendsetters in acceptance and tolerance and love of your fellowman no matter what - but that they must be dragged to that state kicking and screaming by progressives and free-thinkers because their dogma demands otherwise.
So it's admirable when religious people can keep it in their pants, but it's not common. And that's a problem for anyone who doesn't share their ancient world-views adopted from a book that was written by people who thought slavery was acceptable.

And what rights do you think you have lost to Christians? It is the athiests who want to stop the free practice of their religion (at least in public)
There's no need to disprove something that noone can present a shred of evidence for. If god exists in the way that you (personally) imagine he does (at least from what you've presented here) then honestly he's kind of an asshole. Just sitting up there, existing, watching people suffer incredibly, only revealing himself to certain people in completely unverifiable and innocuous ways. I'd rather assume that he's not in fact an asshole, he just isn't real. Shit happens.
One of the funniest things I've witnessed in church goes a little something like this. . .
Middle aged man. Very soft spoken. Never been married. Drives a tiny convertible. Has toy poodle.
Fag. But he's scared to be a fag.
lol
God is a Libertarian.
Why I want to punch anyone who says "hate the sin not the sinner" in the face. As though you can separate your sexuality from your being and still live a happy life.
