So you view him as one of the marquee DT's in the NFL?
According to stats vs the run, yeah he appears to be.
He'll be a VAST improvement over Hayden.

There is a chance that both Ramsey and Bosa are gone by 4.
Perhaps, but highly unlikely IMO. If they are though, it means either Wentz or Goff (or perhaps both) are there for us, and I'd be thrilled.

Report: Lynch's Workout with Cowboys Went 'Very Well' (via ble.ac/teamstream-) bleacherreport.com/articles/26190…
Would be pretty interesting if Lynch fell to them in the 2nd.
I really don't want Garrett having a say in which QB we select.
Garrett can't even identify a second string QB, let alone a franchise guy.
As long as we come away with Wentz, Goff or Lynch I don't care what Garrett had to say.
I don't disagree exactly, but if Garrett is fired at the end of the current season, the next coach would be saddled with a young QB in need of development who the new coach didn't draft ... and that can go south in a number of ways.
It can be tough on a developing QB to have a new offense and new offensive coordinator (which could happen if Garrett were fired).
Just a thought.
The key will be what Cleveland does. Logic says they should take a QB. The Browns don't typically do what's logical though. Since this Browns franchise has been in existence, they have probably screwed up more high 1st round picks than any other team.
I cant see that happening at all. Rams, Bills, Jets, Cardinals and Broncos could all be teams looking at QB.
Thornton is a rotation guy. He should not be starting. If Thornton were the 2nd or 3rd best DT on the team this DL would be extremely good. If Thornton is the starter they are really no better off than they are with Hayden. Slightly better maybe but not elite level like Buckner would be.
Go watch the first Eagles game where he was challenging Martin and then tell me he is no better than Hayden.
I think if Lynch makes it to 25 and past the Rams, Bills and Jets there is a chance the Cowboys would trade back up in to the 1st round to get him. Seattle at 26 and Green Bay at 27 are potential trading partners.
Speaking of Garrett and young QBs, did you guys hear the audio of Garrett basically lamenting the fact that it's soo hard to develop young QBs now because you don't have enough time to work with them?
Yet somehow other teams seem to do it.
Today it seems that a lot of teams develop their QB by playing him. Learning/teaching on the fly. Seems like it would be difficult to develop a QB behind a starter now.
Having said that, though, it should be a bit easier in Dallas given the "Romo Wednesdays."
Given how critically important the QB position has become in today's NFL, you'd think that the NFL leadership would find a way to structure allowable practice schedules so that teams have more opportunities to develop future starting QBs. There's gotta be a way for the NFL leadership and the players' union to agree on practice rules that would be more friendly to the development of young QBs. It is a pretty huge issue. Quality QB play is essential to the NFL's product quality.
