cleveland can be relied upon to pick the wrong QB. There is no greater constant over the last 30 years in the NFL
Well, they just signed Griffin. Dummies.

Today it seems that a lot of teams develop their QB by playing him. Learning/teaching on the fly. Seems like it would be difficult to develop a QB behind a starter now.
How much different? Wasn't an issue with Aaron Rodgers.
Speaking of Garrett and young QBs, did you guys hear the audio of Garrett basically lamenting the fact that it's soo hard to develop young QBs now because you don't have enough time to work with them?
Yet somehow other teams seem to do it.
I think there's some truth to this though. The CBA greatly limits how much offseason practice time you can have now, and it wasn't all that way. It doesn't just impact this though. Many other areas of the game suffer IMO because of lack of practice/live practice & tackling etc etc
Doesn't mean every QB will be a failure because of it, it just makes it more challenging I think.
Yes, but the point is it's true for every team. You still have to get it done.I think there's some truth to this though
The narrative that Wentz and Goff are running even as the top two quarterbacks available in the 2016 NFL Draft is beginning to give way to a perceived edge for Wentz, the former North Dakota State quarterback who conducted his pro-day workout Thursday for NFL coaches and scouts. First, there was NFL Media analyst Charley Casserly, who polled 15 NFL executives about the two quarterbacks and found a majority of them favored Wentz. And Mayock is seeing things much the same.
"I've watched every game that he was in this year, and I'm more convinced than ever that he's the top quarterback in this draft," Mayock said on NFL HQ. " ... This kid controls the line of scrimmage. He's under center, he's in (shotgun), he controls all the pass protections, and he can make every throw."
2016 NFL Draft: Carson Wentz crushes pro day with Browns watching

With NFL eyes focused on Fargo for North Dakota State's pro day on Thursday, including the Cleveland Browns, Carson Wentz didn't disappoint.
In the Fargodome with his former receivers, Wentz went through a 65-throw script, completing 63 passes with one drop and one overthrow. Similar to Jared Goff at his pro day, NFL quarterback Ryan Lindley helped design the workout.
And also similar to Goff's pro day, Browns' offensive assistant coach Pep Hamilton had Wentz make several additional throws, using a water bottle to wet the ball at the snap. His first pass with the water-soaked ball bounced to the receiver, but Wentz rebounded well and got into a rhythm.
Wentz's strengths as a passer were on full display at the workout, showing off a strong arm and the mobility to make throws on the move. He has a NFL-style skill-set and delivers a very catchable ball with timing and touch. Based on film study, the main concerns for Wentz are his internal clock and ability to work through progressions, but those questions won't be answered in a pro day setting.

Despite all 32 teams being credentialed for the pro day, only 18 were in attendance due to snowstorms in the area. Browns' head coach Hue Jackson was the only head coach in attendance.
The Browns announced the signing of quarterback Robert Griffin III on Thursday, but that won't alter their thinking with the No. 2 overall pick. If there is a quarterback in this draft, presumably Goff or Wentz, that Jackson and the Browns' brain trust believe can be a long-term starter, he will be the pick second overall.
Nothing transpired at the pro day that NFL teams didn't already know about Wentz and his talents, but it was another setting for him to show off his talents just like he did at the Senior Bowl and Combine. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder at the quarterback position, but he is the favorite to be the first quarterback drafted for many around the league.
He's still my choice for the 4th pick.
Mine too, but I don't think he is going to be there.

#Browns have been zeroing in on Wentz for awhile, due diligence done elsewhere, but they're going to take him.

RG3 signing for #Browns won't affect draft plans either way.
