Should be noted that Dan Quinn is a defensive coach. Our offensive game plan was easy to defend. Opponents don't need to fear the deep passing game. Just load up on the run and the intermediate routes and we're easy to stop.
I thought it was smart for Weeden to go deep on the second play of the game to back the D off the line. But that was the last time he took a shot with a deep ball
Had he of done that a few more times and connected once or twice they would have to at least respect the threat and not stack the box each play
I have to say, for all his faults in the past Weeden is an accurate passer. He does NOW have the Franchise record for 21 straight completions without a drop or pick. As soon as the announcer mentioned the new record he made a bad decision and threw a pick on the next play. Thanks for jinxing us ya bastard!
It happened in the Miami game as well, the announcer said Tanihill went 157 (or whatever the number was) completions with out a pick , and boom, next play he throws a pick. I've seen that happen numerous times over the years. As soon as they mention a long streak like that something happens shortly there after to screw it up lol
But Who would of thought at the end of the day that Weeden of all people would hold any Cowboy franchise record? Let alone one for accuracy!
He performed better than I had expected him to! Is he going to take us to the promise land while Romo is gone? Doubtful. But I think he will be good enough to get us a couple wins and to get us by without Cassel having to save the day as long as we can support him on D And keep games close along with not dropping balls and killing drives with too many penalties
