Well its a disappointing loss for sure. I really thought if we somehow scored 28-30 pts we'd have a good chance to win, but the defense got worked bad in the 2nd half.
The saving grace there is help is on the way. Greg Hardy, Rolando McClain and Randy Gregory are all coming back, and they'll be a big boost to the pass rush and how physical they can play vs the run. Jack Crawford and Ryan Russell are decent back up guys, but they are awful vs the run and cant rush the passer. They were on the field too much today. Kyle Wilbur is a try hard guy who has some position flex, but he isn't a starting quality LB and he will head back to the bench. R McClain will definitely help the run D be more physical. You usually cant win many games in the NFL when you cant rush the passer and the other team has a good QB and good receivers. I think Sean Lee had the only hit on Matt Ryan the entire game, and that was his sack on the 3rd play of the game.
Offensively, Weeden had two pretty bad plays but otherwise played pretty well. The OL was dominant in the first half and all 3 RB's looked great then. We miss Romo and Dez Bryant badly, but they are coming back. if they can beat the Saints we can be no worse than 3-2 after the bye, and there are winnable games coming up then with much needed defensive help returning.
