Richie whitt just talked about how murray and lee got into it today.

apparently these two go after each other all the time in practice and dont care for each other getting the upper hand.

I guess whitt was told last year during a practice the two got into a full on fist fight and the coaches loved it. These two almost threw down today I guess....

both dont want to back down to each other during practice!

awesome stuff. It reminds me of reading about how jack del rio used to get into fights all the time and how the team used to beat the shit out of mike saxon because he didnt back down to anyone!

You got to love two injury prone players going at it in practice.

fight with each other and make practices tough. Both sides do not want to give in...

They'd be training at St. Edwards if they wanted tough practices.

geez, this is just bad.

If holland is in shape and played well enough to not be a liability last year why in the hell did we not just keep him during an offseason where we are putting in a new blocking scheme?

now were to believe he will just pick up months worth of work in a few days?

that would not be smart.

you can not function in this weather. they would not get anything done.

Its not like the old days where you can just beat the hell out of the fringe players and bring in piles of people.

I wish it was so I could go down there and watch a few though.

Callahan was saying there arnt alot of scheme differences, just some different technique stuff he's teaching.

And whomever they sign, they've got over a month till our first game that counts. Thats plenty of time. Hopefully whoever it is wont have to be the starter anyway, just provide some depth and rest for the others while we're so thin.

Why don't people get that an unsigned/unemployed holland = a motivated/in shape holland.

While a signed holland = fatass during the offseason

I called this from day 1

It wasn't a blast furnace when Jimmy coached them down there? Hmmm. I don't see how the air conditioned Alamodome or the cool ocean breezes off Oxnard will make them a physically/mentally tough team, but we shall see.

Ahh, now that was some real training camps.

I went to camp in 1992 out there and it was awesome. Jimmy ran real practices. That whole staff did.

That fat Minnesota Viking lineman croaking in the heat probably put the kibosh on the whole thing.

yes and that is why I said in this day and age with the limited guys in camp, salary cap and less draft picks you can not just beat the hell out of your starters, especially in 109 degree heat.

Daryl johnston has said constantly that the worst he ever felt was coming out of camp in wichita falls and he always makes a point to say the team was exhausted because of what they had to go through.

I dont think dealing with the heat will make them any tougher anyway. they are not going to ever have to play in the heat so it doesnt matter. When we played in texas stadium I always thought it was important that the team was in excellent condition so they could take advantage of visiting teams in september......

not anymore..

I agree with BB here. I really think running a camp like the Jimmy days in Austin would have been good for this team. Garrett went through 1 or 2 of those IIRC. Woicik was on Jimmy's staff then.

And the 92 camp was pretty brutal in terms of the heat, and yet other than Jimmy Smith (broken leg) we had few injuries at all out there, and not only was the weather hot the practices themselves were as physical as some games.

probably

although Goodell is such a pussy anyway, once a couple of his croanies complained about heat he'd probably have stopped them regardless

I really don't think suffering from heat exhaustion in July makes a difference in January.

You can compete/train/learn much better in climates where you can actually still breathe/remain alive when you walk outside.

You cant. there are no two ways about it.

nobody can or does run those types of camps.

the giants run a camp just like we do....not much hitting and they have won two of the previous 5 superbowls......

meanwhile the eagles are always applauded for running such hard hitting camps and all the media loves it, but they dont ever win shit and they usually have the biggest injury list coming out of camp, mostly lineman.
