I'm having a change of heart on Dre Kirkpatrick. He may be the best safety in this draft. Looks to be the most impressive player on that Alabama defense.

Hightower is the most impressive player - in fact would not bother me if we traded down for him

Used a lot as a pass rusher off the edge in nickel situations. Looks natural sitting into his stance and has a good first step. Loves to work the inside move, gain leverage and overpower on contact. Exhibits natural explosion as a bull rush guy and despite lacking ideal know how to shed, he can push the pocket. Demonstrates just enough of a first step to reach the corner, is violent with his hands when working the club/swat to keep himself clean and will try to drop his pad level and dip under blockers, despite being a little tight.

Impression: Looks like a potential impact caliber 34-inside linebacker who has the skill set to win inside vs. the run and create pressure on third down as a savvy rush guy as well.

use him as OLB an ILB then in the 2nd or 3rd

pick up Amini Silatolu. OG., Midwestern St

You want a 2nd round TE?

I want good players, dont care what position they play or what round. Just draft talented guys that can help. Allen is a talented guy at a position we'll need help at.

UT linebackers will attend Cowboys' Dallas Day workout

Texas linebacker Emmanuel Acho always has been a Cowboys fan. Not that he had a choice.
"You grow up in Dallas, you grow up a Cowboys fan," Acho said Tuesday.

Acho and Keenan Robinson both said they will attend the Cowboys’ Dallas Day workout next month for local prospects. Robinson played at Plano East. Acho is a Dallas St. Mark’s product.

Robinson said he also get another visit lined up with the Cowboys. He did not grow up a fan of the Cowboys, though, or at least he doesn't want to admit it since he might end up somewhere else on draft day.

"I grew up a fan of the game," Robinson said. "I watched Dallas, obviously, because that's what was on Fox every Sunday as the hometown team. I really don't have a team. I like football, the sport. I like to watch linebackers. No matter what team is on, I'm going to watch guys like Ray Lewis, Patrick Willis, all those guys."

Acho has a torn right quadriceps that prevented him from doing anything more than position drills at UT's Pro Day. But Robinson ran a 4.70 in the 40, had a 10-foot, 5-inch broad jump and went 361/2-inches in the vertical jump Tuesday. Robinson is projected as a third- or fourth-round pick, while Acho is projected to go in the fifth round.

You can't draft a QB in round one because of the message it sends to the team.

Especially for a QB as heavily scrutinized as Tony Romo.

I wouldn't even draft a QB in any round this year. Too many other holes to fill.

Didn't we just sign Kyle Orton to back up Tony? Beef up the trenches in this years draft.

And before you say it, yeah, I know we already signed two worthless pieces of shit guards.

a much better plan. Osweiler needs a few years to be groomed. I think he'll be another Matt Schaub.

I see a little Aaron Rodgers in him with the way he's able to spray the ball all over the field with great velocity. He's a better athlete than Shaub too.

I thought he was more impressive a player than Upshaw too. Kirkpatrick was just man-handling folks though and always getting his hands or helmet on balls.

What message? That they are drafting towards their board while at the same time preparing for the future?

Not saying I want them to do it, but its the kind of proactive move that Jones has rarely made, then regretted somewhere down the road.

If they think he's just another decent QB prospect, it wouldnt be worth doing. If they think he has franchise calibar QB potential down the road and have a high grade on him, then the move should be considered.

Do you really believe that is the message the average fan, or the mediots would take from the selection?

Most intelligent fans would "get it"

I'm sure there would be some who wouldnt, and there probably would be some spin doctors in the media that would take it and run with it. But it still doesnt mean its the wrong decision.

Take an entire fan base.

Maybe 1% is "intelligent."

And yeah, we have a hard enough time maintaining focus and avoiding a media circus with dickbag Jerry in charge.

There's no way we'd avoid catastrophic distractions with the team taking a QB round 1. Especially after Romo has one of his 2 pick games next year.

Hell... the guy played lights out last year post-Detroit game, and 95% of the fan base wanted the team to go after RG3.

A large portion of the fan base want Tebow.

Naw... I'll pass on taking a guy like Tannehill, who isn't even a sure-fire first rounder as it is. He's just the third best QB in the draft.

Saints forfeiting a 2nd rounder this year means one less quality player selected before we go on the board in the third.

Our 1st round pick last year is already our 3rd best player. We need all the immediate help we can get.

If you take a QB in the first you mine as well get ready to start his era

now the Saints have no 1st or 2nd round pick. They gave up this year's 1st for Mark Ingram.

That doesn't push another player to us or anything but means they won't be adding as much talent.

RG3 had a good Pro Day. Snyder, Shanahan, Allen in attendance. Go figure.

Would you have rather taken a QB, even if he had taken 2-3 years to develop or a player like Bobby Carpenter?
