OK I am going to have to fess up.

I haven't been heard from much today as I've been behind the scenes working my sources and contacts. Ultimately I was able to get into a private conference call with a high ranking official at VR (lets just call him "Jones" for now)

Basically I informed him that Brian Waters was still very interested in playing football, and helped arrange the phone call and eventual meeting they had at VR today that resulted in us potentially upgrading the OL. If it hadn't been for me, I don't know that "Jones" would have known about how Waters was just burning with desire to wear the Star and play for Dallas, and finally win that Super Bowl ring he has chased all his life.

After he thanked me for this earth shattering news, I turned in onto this little known pass rushing demon Ceasar Rayford. Rayford actually led the NFL in preseason sacks, something nobody was aware of until I made that call and sent a few texts.

Dbair, the idiot traded for Ceasar Rayford instead of Caesar Rayford because you suck at spelling.

We had no chance running to the right 2 hours ago.

At least we have a chance now. Not sure this guy can play...but he can't be worse than our RG at run blocking.

Werder ripping off my breaking news. I knew about this all weekend, but my source ("Jones") asked me to keep it quiet a few more days.

Brian Waters, Cowboys agree to deal

Updated: September 3, 2013, 7:48 PM ET
By Ed Werder | ESPN NFL Insider

The Dallas Cowboys have reached an agreement with free-agent guard Brian Waters, according to a league source.

The Cowboys worked out Waters on Tuesday and offered the six-time Pro Bowler a one-year contract worth $1.7 million. Incentives would've increased the deal.

Even though Waters' salary would be guaranteed if he's on the opening-day roster, the Cowboys don't expect him to play Sunday night game against the New York Giants. A source says his conditioning level would be a potential concern as is the fact he has not familiarity with the other members of the offensive line or coach Jason Garrett's offense.

The Cowboys have made being more physical up front their first priority this offseason, using a first-round pick to draft center Travis Frederick, who carried a second-round grade on the Dallas draft board. The Cowboys also want to protect Tony Romo after the quarterback was sacked a career-high 36 times each of the past two seasons.

With the Cowboys signing the 36-year-old Waters, who last played for the New England Patriots in the 2011 season, it means they;ve offered more money in terms of a contract or have worries about the health of their offensive line. Waters spent his first 11 seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Starting left guard Ronald Leary did some individual drills Monday after recovering from minor knee surgery. Leary did feel better on Tuesday when he showed up to Valley Ranch for treatment during the players off day.

No more excuses for Romo either. He's going to silence one group. Either the supporters or haters

one was in college, one was on the Practice Squad, and one was in his garage.

Meanwhile, Livings and Bernadeau deposit millions.

I'd put Bernadeau on IR too and tell him to turn in his shit and not to ever come back.

You can't just put people on IR for no reason. Even if you could you still pay them.

Just say he has an undiagnosed injury that makes him suck. Hard to argue that he doesn't suck so they'd buy it.
