It's the general self-defense theory that cuts across every jurisdiction. There may be some variances from state to state, but generally speaking, that's the case.Not being argumentative here, but is that law across the board, or just in jurisdictions such as Texas (where you live) and Florida, where it's legal to carry guns?
I'm not sure what you mean here. I said a person who is reasonably put in fear for their life (in this case, Martin), has the right to use reasonable force to defend himself. Martin's not the person who escalated this into a deadly situation. I don't think Zimmerman should be able to use the self-defense theory since he made this a deadly situation.Being argumentative now, but when was a punch considered reasonable force next to a gun? What guy with a gun is going to be like, "wow, he punched me, I got nothing."?
