I know you don't know how the law works, so let me educate you. Self-defense laws are in place so you can use reasonable force to defend yourself. I know, it sounds self-explanatory, but apparently you don't get it.

If someone is following you and reaches into their pocket for something after you confront them, most people are not going to wait to see what they pull out of their pocket to defend themselves. Martin may have been justified in killing Zimmerman himself. Zimmerman was obviously armed.

But Zimmerman was the one who escalated this into a deadly situation. You can't claim self-defense if you were the person who escalated it into a deadly situation.

It would be like a bank robber going into a bank armed, then a teller grabs a gun from under the counter and starts shooting at the suspect. The robber cannot then shoot the teller and claim self-defense because the teller was shooting at him.

Reaching into your pocket is not escalating anything into a deadly sitaution.

Try again, counsel.

Yeah you're right. CNN has absolutely blown this way out of proportion and fabricated all kinds of details - from the contrasting pictures where Zimmerman looks like a thug and Martin an innocent little teenager to Zimmerman being white, then white Hispanic (whatever that is), then Hispanic. I don't understand the point of it all, but one thing I do know is that I won't be supporting CNN ever again.

I think $8000-10,000 per supporter would be enough to get him on his feet. There's an emotional trauma element here that also will set him back. He deserves a nice vacation to a beach resort after all this.

To be clear, I consider all of the Martin defenders to still be amigos. You all have just been manipulated by the media. Their tricks work on weak minds.

Anywho... It's looking like Zimmerman is not going to be charged and the special prosecutor's office is delaying things (nobody likes to be the bearer of bad news) or is hoping for a last minute "ah ha" moment so they can bring charges. They need to just rip the band-aid off quickly and get this thing over with. There's no case and it's time to put this circus to bed.

The robber is obviously committing a crime. What did Zimmerman do that was against the law?

When he's armed? What point does he escalate it into a deadly situation? When he pulls the gun out and points it at Martin? Or is it when he pulls the trigger?

Made-up stat, but probably 4 out of 5 people would disagree with you.

And if they charge him what will you say then?

He wasn't reaching into his pocket for his gun. Stop. You're better than this.

And if they charge him what will you say then?

It won't matter, because the charges won't stick. He'll never get convicted.

I'd be interested to hear what you'll say when this happens though.

After Trayvon Martin, Neo-Nazis Say They're Armed and Patrolling Sanford
A A A Comments (14) By Michael E. Miller Thursday, Apr 12 2012

Because nothing diffuses racial tension like gun-toting racial separatists patrolling an already on-edge community, Sanford, Florida, is about to get just the support it needs after the Trayvon Martin tragedy: heavily armed neo-Nazi patrols.

The patrols are meant to protect "white citizens in the area who are concerned for their safety" during the backlash over Martin's killing by a neighborhood watchman, says Commander Jeff Schoep of the National Socialist Movement. "We are not advocating any type of violence or attacks on anybody, but we are prepared for it," he tells Riptide. "We are not the type of white people who are going to be walked all over."

The Sanford Police Department "has not seen any neo-Nazis on patrol," says Sgt. David Morgenstern, a department spokesman. But Schoep, whose neo-Nazi group is based in Detroit, tells Riptide that ten to 20 locals and "volunteers" from across the state — including some from Miami — are actively cruising the Central Florida town. He declined to specify what kind of firepower they have or where they are driving.

"What I can tell you is that any patrols that we are doing now in Florida are totally within the law," he says.

A fringe group called the New Black Panther Party recently offered $10,000 for a citizen's arrest of George Zimmerman, Martin's shooter. Schoep claims his group is a necessary counterbalance.

"Whenever there is one of these racially charged events, Al Sharpton goes wherever blacks need him," Schoep says. "We do similar things. We are a white civil rights organization."

Schoep is also quick to clarify he isn't taking sides in Martin's controversial shooting. Besides, he adds, Zimmerman is not even white.

"A lot of people think that this guy who shot Trayvon was white... but he's half Hispanic or Cuban or something," Schoep says. "He certainly doesn't look white to me."

To some observers, sending in the storm troops seems like a sure way to incite — not prevent — racial violence. But Schoep says that's way off base.

"You can either be prepared or you can be blindsided. This way, if something were to touch off a race riot, we'd already be in the area."

How reassuring.

The Neo-Natzi's need to end up in the bottom of a well, just like the New Black Panther party and Al Sharpton do.

George Zimmerman’s former legal team on Tuesday said Zimmerman spoke off the record with Fox News’ Sean Hannity. The lawyers said Zimmerman told Hannity things that he would not tell them.

Let me get this straight. ZImmerman followed Trayvon. Trayvon than turned and asked him why he was following. Zimmerman pulled out a gun from his pocket and thats when Trayvon started beating him up. Why than did Zimmerman wait until he got the shit beat out of him to shoot him with the very gun he reached in his pocket to confront him with

If thats how it happened than Trayvon has got some balls punching a guy with a gun

Follow someone, reach into your pocket, you deserve to get shot. Got it.

Counselor, I think you slept through the class that dealt with weighing the evidence.

Eh. It's either just trolling or padding post count for someone to have 100 adamant posts in defense of Zimmerman in this thread, but not actually help when he's in legit need.

All the poor guy did was shoot a blacky who was going nowhere in life anyway, and now needs money from his supporters. After spending hours reading about why he's innocent and supporting him so much in this thread, it's time for you adamant peeps to take a stand. He is desperately pleading for help, while his supporters toil away on message boards for free. Y'all are no different than Hostile if you're creating this fake internet persona and then not actually supporting your man Zimmerman in real life. What's next, you guys played for BYU?

Seriously?

Ol Zimmy's lawyers quit.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout...y-hold-press-conference-4-30pm-203437097.html

Zimmerman's attorneys announced they have "lost contact" with Zimmerman and are withdrawing as counsel
Attorneys say they still believe former client is innocent and acted in self-defense
Engage in heated discussion with the press, say Zimmerman is "victim" of press attacks

In a highly contentious press conference, attorneys Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig announced they have withdrawn as counsel for George Zimmerman, who remains under intense scrutiny for the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

"It's no so much that we are resigning. It's that we cannot continue to represent him until he comes forward," said attorney Craig Sonner.
