I remember watching that show. One time they had their daughters friends over for dinner who had AIDs (back then there was the huge AIDs scare) and the dad threw his glass in the trashcan after it was over.

It's wierd how some things stick with you.

Yes the fan should be ejected. Without question we are talking about kids here.

Did the referee hear him? It will come down to the referees discretion because they are the people that enforce it during games. Taunting is an unsportsmanlike penalty trash talking fits into that category, the kid could be ejected. How hard is that to understand. It isn't rocket science. This isn't a new rule for most states.

You're being childish.

So,a fan in the stand should be ejected for pointing out an obvious mismatch...hmmm.
What's next?...no cheering when their team scores because it may make the kids on the other team feel bad?
This is the ultimate display of yes, political correctness, which in reality is tyranny with manners.

Quit already.

We're talking about shows from the late 80's, early 90's now.

Thanks!

The schools decide to belong to those type of organizations. They aren't required. Employees of the Member schools make their executive committee, each member school has a vote on whether or not to accept the policies and rules. Belonging means once passed they have to abide by the rules.

Membership is required if you want to compete against other schools. There are over 400 schools and a executive committee of which less than a dozen people are actively involved with (even though they list 40 on their site). They make all the rules. Member schools have very little say.

If a law is broken (the state has a state Anti Bullying law) the State Athletic Association has no way to prosecute a crime.

Of course the State Athletic Association can't prosecute crimes. This is silly. If someone breaks a law, report it. There is no need for special collaboration with the AG. NJSIAA is has been mismanaged for decades. They have been losing money since 2005.

The entire reason this came about is a fight between two schools I used to compete against. My alma mater was Don Bosco Prep. I hated both schools and there was trash talking on both sides. Prosecuting people for name calling is a bunch of crap.

Let me ask you something. How many people have been prosecuted in NJ under the anti-bullying laws? Has bullying stopped? How exactly will they enforce the new rules fairly and equally? In the past, schools with members on the executive committee have always gotten the breaks. It is a very political group. This is simply a group of people using resources they don't have addressing a non-existent problem.

You didn't read what he said. "Should a fan be ejected for screaming at the CB that he doesn't have a chance in covering the guy worth a shit?" Yes he should. These are kids playing a game. That's inappropriate at a high scool game. This is a display if sportsmanship leave your poltical rhetoric at the door.

No it isn't, if you want to compete in their state championships you need to be member, but you can play interscholastic sports and not be a member. Those members are elected representitives of their specific regions or districts just as it is in PA. They all get a vote on new policies.

that's reporting not prosecuting

read my past posts I posted the areas the article mentioned and their constitution mentioned would be areas where issues would be prosecuted.

In Pa we have had anti taunting/trash talking policies for years, officials and the school itself are the front line. If the schools don't monitor their own staff and students it will be more difficult. If schools are held accountable like it says in their constitution then that can be addressed. Trash talking in and of itself shouldn't be prosecuted and I've said that, but booting kids and coaches for trash talking in games isn't unreasonable. I wouldn't even have an issue if an official warned a kid first (as long as it wasn't to egregious), but it really has no place in the games. The situation you discussed earlier is a prime reason. I don't know the answers to your first questions, but will pose another one to you what if it has lowered bullying and helped some kids?

Good post by the way.

The funny part is,this is 100% rooted in politics, you are just too dense to realize it.
Agenda driven thru and thru, from not keeping scores in games to rewarding failure with trophies.
It creates a mindset, a conditioning process designed to define failure as acceptable while slowly diminishing the meaning of success and effort.
It's sick anti American shit.

flush

It isn't even in the same realm of anything you're talking about.

Yeah not allowing taunting and trash talk means you find failure acceptable. Wow.
