Meaning what actually occurred vs what the media claimed?
The media reported the WhistleBlower complaint as fact when there were many inconsistencies between the complaint and the actual transcript of the phone call.
To begin with, the WB claimed "more than half a dozen" US officials were the source of his information over a period of months. It came out later it was really only LT Col Vindman was the source of the phone call content.
Remember too, the bulk of the complaint was really about Trump's policy towards Ukraine. This is the presidents prerogative. The media sided with the WB, because it was Trump of course.
The WB claimed Trump "sought to pressure the Ukrainian leader to take actions to help the presidents 2020 reelection bid." Trump never mentioned the election and he applied no pressure. The transcript show Trump asked Zelensky to help with an investigation being conducted by Bill Barr.
The WB claimed WH officials were deeply disturbed by what occurred on the phone call. But in reality is was only Vindman who was deeply disturbed. As impeachment hearings testimony showed, most officials were not "deeply" disturbed by what Trump said. They were more disappointed with Trump's policy towards Ukraine. WH officials also testified they were concerned about the appearance of Hunter Biden's role with Burisma and how it looked considering his father was VP.
The main point is, Trump asked Zelensky to help Bill Barr, which is a legitimate request for the head of the executive branch. Trump did mention reports of corruption in Ukraine, the firing of the prosecutor, and that the Bidens were reportedly involved in that corruption - all of which is fact. Democrats and the WB seemed to imply that investigating Biden was off limits - while investigating every aspect of Trump's business and life, including his family interests.
The media basically bought into the WB story - pushed by Adam Schiff entirely while completely ignoring the evidence of Biden family involvement in unseemly things in Ukraine. We now know Joe's involvement was much deeper than he claimed in 2020.
There is much more to this, including some allegations by the WB that never happened. I suggest reading the transcript of the call and the WB complaint. The difference will shock you. But the media ignored all of it and just took the narrative.
