He sure as hell did, he had the audacity to express his opinion an we can't have that shit!

Is that why they voted against it? Or was it because the compromise bill included raising the debt ceiling by $5 trillion without any reciprocal spending cuts?
I am with Chip Roy on this. Why is borrowing money bad when we have a Dem president, but acceptable when Trump is president? Debt is debt and we need to hold the line at some point.
I favor what Thomas Massie has proposed. Vote on separate bills for each topic rather than cramming it all in to one all or nothing bill. If we are going to raise the debt ceiling again, then put it to a separate vote.
The Debt Ceiling Lift was covered here on The War Room with Steve Bannon:I keep reading articles stating Trump wants to raise or remove the debt ceiling but I cant find where they're taking the quote from so I'm dubious of this claim as it seems to me this would run contrary to DOGE and the philosophy of MAGA, if anything it should be reduced or removed as an option entirely (meaning no borrowing, they can only spend what they receive).
Does anyone know when and where he spoke on this issue so I can see how out of context or twisted his words were spun?

It has been reported for a long time that Trump wants to eliminate the debt ceiling, and I understand his logic. But my issue is there must be a limit to how much we can borrow. Someone needs to make an argument for what that limit is so we can vote on it and prepare to defend that line. The debt is increasing exponentially, and the service on that debt is now the single largest expenditure of the US government - over $1.2 TRILLION annually. It should be obvious to everyone that this cannot be sustained.
At the same time, there is no plan to pay off some of the debt or even how to pay it off if we wanted to. The best anyone has offered is to balance the budget and stop borrowing. But in this bizarre world of politics, we can't even do that. Congress seems compelled to overspend every year and forcing us to borrow money and raise the debt ceiling.
I think Trump's point is it is stupid to argue over the debt ceiling knowing in the long run it has to be raised or we default, which we cannot do. So we may as well scrap it.
My question is, why do we have to keep operating as we always have? Why can't we even try to cut costs and reduce spending. When I was in the corporate world, during hard times we would get a mandate to cut our budgets by 10%. Every department, and every manager had the same mandate and were were measured against it. So we cut 10% any way we could. When is the last time the US government did something like that? They only reduce future increases in spending. they never cut the actual budget. I bet the US Government could cut 15% to 20% easily without anyone noticing.
