I could be wrong but I'm sure we could have found a nickel DB for 5 million a year
I'm not sure what all the love is for Scandrick. He is an average fooball player at best
It was news to me. The second we drafted Claiborne, I said to myself "Where is he gonna play?" We all knew Newman was on the way out; not so Jenkins. The notion that he would be prohibitively expensive to keep never crossed my mind.
What year are you referring to? We weren't facing a big hole at CB in 2012. In terms of the future, there were other options, like trading down and drafting Kirkpatrick.
Is there love for Scandrick? I think we're mostly surprised he got a new contract but now that he's signed longterm we're kind of stuck with him.
It's a similar situation to Revis. Jets traded way up to get him, paid a steeper price than we did. You get a player like that in the secondary and he changes the way you can play defense. It's not just a 1 player situation.
IMO our plan is obvious to anyone who is paying attention. We wanted corners who can handle their business so we can bring pressure all day long and minimize the amount of times we pay for it. Suddenly Sean Lee has 5 sacks. The pessimist who wanted the team to go in another direction sees this as a move at expense of other moves. But we lost one freaking pick. To get a guy who has the ability to change the way we're able to play D.
youll have to excuse me..when i say next year, i mean 2013, lol..this season has already started for me..i apologize..
but for 2013..if we didnt take claiborne..drafted a kid in the 2nd or 3rd round..and then let spencer go next year (which is HIGHLY possible at this point) that potentially leaves 2 MAJOR holes for the 2013 season..
Close. We lost a high pick and possibly Jenkins to boot, so unless Claiborne is twice the player Jenkins is (doubtful), you're merely running in quicksand.
If he plays in all 16 games--that there makes him TWICE the player than Jenkins, who plays in only 8 games because he's always hurt in the other 8.
That's tantamount to an admission of defeat. It's like saying to the fans, "You know what? We don't have the competence or know-how to unearth quality replacements in the draft, so we have no choice but to overpay Carr, overpay Spencer for one year, and throw away a second rounder for Claiborne." And there might be better OLB candidates in the draft and free agency next spring, so a 2013 hole at OLB isn't a given.
Isn't Claiborne currently hurt?
maybe we should be looking at getting rid of scandrick instead of Jenkins
You mean no one wants his 5 years 27 million dollar contract
Scandrick will be paid less than 3 million a year after this season his contract will not be hard to move.
But please find some other nonsensical reason to be upset.
maybe he should be upset about you being a dick to him for no reason
which I completely support. I'm just offering ideas.

Am I being a dick?
I thought the posters liked to mix it up a bit around here.
He's mad at me because I dont agree with him regarding the trayvon martin case
Very transparent

So if I take a poll among the people in the forum everyone would say the deal we gave Scandrick was a good one.
Not so sure about that
